I agree with this.  Though I have enjoyed a few laughs at the memeing of 2016.

This is the first year I can recall though where a lot of people who I knew and remembered from things in my childhood were dying in such rapid succession.  I think for a lot of people in my age bracket it is something they are having a hard time coping with, thus the memeing.  Sadly though, from here forward it really only gets worse in that regard.

Not to mention that were several awesome things that happened in 2016 too. >_>

I have never seen a year with so much iconic people dying, so I totally understand the feeling against 2016.

Just read it. Knew she was in Intensive Care, but hoped for the best. So sad she didn't make it after-all. Goodbye Princess Leia.

Awful news. I was hoping she'd pull through. She really was a big part of what made "Star Wars" work in the first place, she brought a lot of humanity to the role. RIP. I'm not blaming the "year", but man, 2016 has felt depressing in a lot of ways.

The sad thing is these things happen in threes. First George Michael, now Carrie Fisher. I don't want to know which famous celebrity is next. RIP Carrie Fisher, may the force be with her family.

No Man Sky's disaster may never be topped.

On topic. T.T I loved her in all Star Wars films, Return of the Jedi specially.

Saddest of all the celebrity passings this year for me. How upsetting :(

My thoughts go out to Billie & Debbie too. Must be incredibly difficult to lose a mother/daughter, I can't even imagine.

Its sad, even for someone who did not grow up during the old films she is iconic.

2016 has been so savage when it comes to celebrity deaths.

I was really hoping she'd pull through, but apparently fate had other plans instead.



Out of all the celebs, she was one of the few that I really hoped, wouldn't pass on any time soon.


I don't know how they will manage writing her out of Episode 9, but it's not going to be the same without her.
