I agree with this. Though I have enjoyed a few laughs at the memeing of 2016.
This is the first year I can recall though where a lot of people who I knew and remembered from things in my childhood were dying in such rapid succession. I think for a lot of people in my age bracket it is something they are having a hard time coping with, thus the memeing. Sadly though, from here forward it really only gets worse in that regard.
