I expect it to happen, actually. Maybe at the ending of PS4 life cycle, but in some time it`s pretty sure that any non-Pro model is just going to be stopped being produced, it`s just a matter for Sony R&D find a way to produce the PS4 Pro using cheaper manufacturing process and to components shrinking even further down the road.

Wich is just nice. PS3 got 3 revisions and PS2 over time became just a single board on the last models. Sony is very pro-active when it comes to shrinking their consoles components as much as possible.

Maybe at end of PS4 life cycle.... so a cheaper PS4pro slim, or a Playstation 5.
I could see that 2020.... PS5 for 400$ or a PS4pro slim for 250$.

With most PS5 games playable on the PS4pro but at lower resolutions.

There will be a PS4 Super Slim and a PS4 Pro Slim in 2019 or 2020 depending on when 7nm fabrication becomes stable enough for mass market products.

I think we will be looking PS4 Super Slim $149.99, PS4 Pro Slim $249.99, and most likely a PS4 Spec 3 for $399.99.

I don't think a PS4 Pro Slim will happen. But I hope that it will happen because it could be very cool!

You may see one down the line either just before, or right around the PS5 launch. As others have said it will come with reduced cost both to produce and to buy.

PS4 Pro Slim will happen no doubt about it. It's the same exact thing as PS4--->PS4 Slim, cutting manufacturing costs. I think the earliest it could happen is the end of 2018 and if the tech is not there yet then 2019 for sure.

It would probably have to come through a die shrink, but I think 10nm for a chip as complex as the PS4 Pro is a ways off.
