Forums - Microsoft - Phil Spencer criticizes buying exclusive content/DLC

If the low number of 3rd party deals MS makes these days resulted in them funding more games it'd be pretty great.
But they seem to have stopped doing that as well. There's like 5 games coming out in the future that MS has invested in and 2 of them were announced at E3 2014, 2 and a half years ago. They closed down most of their studios last year as well.

I'm interested in seeing how they plan to market Scorpio with no exclusive games or even 3rd party marketing deals considering Sony has all the big games like Resident Evil 7, Mass Effect Andromeda, Destiny 2, Call of Duty, Star Wars Battlefront, Red Dead Redemption 2 as far as marketing and DLC exclusivity goes.

I hope Phil's plan isn't to just break down and start crying during interviews about how exclusive marketing rights aren't fair.

Do you have an Xbone? If you don't have an Xbone, why does it bother you what kind of games they are getting? If you do, I'd suggest you sell it. As  stated by many, the future doesn't look so bright. It's run by a crap company and evil representatives.

So publishers do exclusive content from the goodness of their heart? That's a little naive to think it doesn't help the devs and publishers.

They do it because the $$$

So you agree it helps the devs?

This. If you don't care about Halo, and Gears there's no reason for you to spend even a moment think about XB1.

The few other exclsuives that MS even has are not worth playing anyway, you can find better alternatives to stuff like Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, etc. on PS4.

LOL No matter how much Phil contradicts himself, puts his foot in his mouth or backtracks Xbox fans still worship him. He is being a hypocrite PERIOD. there is no defending him or spinning it around. Sony has nothing to do with his hypocrisy, but they would be hypocrites too if they said something similar.

The whole reason exclusive content exists is because of Microsoft and timed exclusives are "exclusive" content, which is more than just an add-on. Phil just announced tons of timed exclusive content and indie games at E3. So yes, he is a hypocrite.

This thread should not have went this long with people making pointless arguments for something so clear. Just admit he is a hypocrite and move on. Stop defending everything MS does or says when they are WRONG.

Money goes to the publisher no the devs directly.

You made an alt already? Also QB, SO, Cuphead SOT, Ashen, Crackdown, Rare Replay, Scalebound, Phantom Dust, Forza have better alternatives on PS4? Please name me an alternative on PS4 for each game.

He wasnt being a hypocrite because he hasnt made any timed DLC or games deal. He actually ended it with Call of Duty.

Wasn't he behind (or part of) Rise of the Tomb Raider's deal?

Probably not. The deal was made because of the support MS showed to the reboot so it makes sense for it to be made when Rise started development he might not be part of it.

QB< Uncharted 4

SO, Crackdown< Infamous: SS, Spiderman

Phantom Dust- Cancelled

Scalebound< Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier Automata

Cuphead, Ashen- these indies will end up on PS4 a month after their xbox release, like Inside. And even if they don't PS4 has so many of these types of indie games it doesn't even matter.

Rare Replay? seriously a collection of old games?

Forza< Driveclub, Gran Turismo

So as I was saying, unless you're someone has to have his Halo and gears, don't bother with XB1.

How can you give him credit for ending the CoD deal, and then exempt him from being responsible for ROTR and DR4 deals?

Why couldn't he end those if he was able to end the CoD deal?

How are you not dizzy from all that spinning?
