I think you're not following the whole aspect of what I'm saying Chaz mate, it could be that I'm fucking up writing it I'm pretty destroyed tired (48 hours sans sleep)

I just mean that with 2 kids fighting and one crying out to mom to stop the fighting... it's hard to sympathis with the kid who crys out that it isn't fair. Nothing about either company doing or not doing it.

But yeah my only point is that I think Phil isn't in a position where he can say that particular tactic is a bad one as of right now at least. I would also suggest give people the benefit of the doubt though as to what will happen in the future, there is a lot of "if Sony did X people would love it, or not complain" can't really know for sure unless you got a Crystal ball as an early Christmas Pressie :)

Again, sorry if the post doesn't make as much sense as it does in my head man, I'm running on caffine fumes here while getting the last of my work done before Xmas. Don't mean to cause annoyence as always and hope you and all others on here have a good Holiday!

No, I do understand, I just don't agree with your pov. The one who is pointing out that it's bad should stop yes, but most definitely should the other one stop, and that's not what's being adressed at all. "if" (because we may as well use the big ol "if") MS were to stop, do you think Sony would?, would you be on their case 24/7 till the cows come home if they carry on doing the same gig?. I know you're likely to say "yes", but I'm not really feeling it, what with your focus on Phil, the one who spoke up and not the one who stayed silent.

Grab some Z's man, you need them =P.

Oh no lol, I think that if MS stopped reaching out to studios offering them any forms of incentive to bring their games and content to the MS platform then Sony would absolutely run havok on bagging everything for the PS4, this generation would end with a number of games per platform as the GC/PS2/Xbox Era.

Like I said before, even as soon as MS and Sony looked away from platinum games for 2 mins, Nintendo swept in and bagged Bayo2 as exclusive, fuck it even the Ouya bagged Towerfall Ascension as an exclusive for 6 or 18 months before it could go elsewhere. No company will ever lay down their guns (bags of cash) and stop trying to get games and content on their systems, the only time a company will stop doing that, is if they aim to leave the console market like Sega.

And yeah, think that's it form me, Darkness calls!!

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

You're putting too much stock in that over the multiple other reasons the 360 sold so well.

I never said it was the only reason it sold well.  And I don't think I am putting too much stock in it.  Think of how many people there are, especially seemingly in the US, that buy a system just to play their annual sports and FPS games.  You see the shift already in CoD numbers to the PS4 this gen over the XB1 (the decline in CoD itself is of course another discussion) and yet the install base isn't nearly as lopsided so you would think if it wasn't a big factor you wouldn't see a large discrepancy.  That alone tells me that the exclusivity can move a good amount of units for a company.

Ya but Microsoft didn't start the whole Call of Duty annual deals thing till like 2011/12 and by then the console race was already determined.

I guess he responded?

People getting worked up on this, Never said Xbox has never done this, not calling out others, just not practice I like, that's it"

I guess that about wraps up all the hypocrite BS.

Respect for responding and owning up to(to an extent) but if its not a practice he likes, yet continues to participate in, does this still not make him a hypocrite to a degree?

Microsoft has done it before, though. Spider-Man for the Xbox, Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Substance (originally Xbox exclusive content), even this gen I remember that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes had exclusive content for the XB1.

EDIT: Oh, I also forgot the FIFA games that have exclusive content on the XB1.

All of those were before Spencer became head of course, except for maybe MGS V, which I don't recall having any exclusive content honestly.

Ground Zeros was also a Mattrick decision because the game was announced in 2012.

No? If that's the game you gotta play, then you gotta play it. Furthermore we have no idea what deals MS has actually made with him at the helm.

The bottom line is timed exclusive content is a part of the industry now. He works in that industry, so he'll have to deal with it. Doesn't mean he has to like it.

Everything's Mattrick guys come on, Phil is perfect I PROMISE!E!E!E

Does Phil think anyone gives a **** what his personal views are if he doesn't have the balls to put them into practice?
If he's so against the practice then he should stop doing it himself first. You know "Man in the mirror" and all.
Otherwise shut the fuck up.

Far from perfect, but he's a heck of alot better than Mattrick at least. Doesn't come close to Peter Moore though.

yes, I was mostly joking. I just think it's funny the go to answer in this thread is "it's not his fault". Which to be fair is probably mostly true, but also a little disengenous. He's pretty good and as long as there are no futurer timed exclusives I'm set in believing him.
