I think it is for others. At the moment with only Japan and Others, GT5:P has the second biggest opening week for a PS3 game. The only bigger one is DMC4.
| Just_Ben said: You are forgetting something: The number of "1 Million preorders" came from a PR rep. PR means: Twist the reality without lying. Is there a hardware bundle of GT5:P? As far as I know off. Can shop preorder them? I personal would think so. Can we count that as "Preorder". Yes we can ;) Thats why I was not impressed by that 1 Million in the first place (Yes this game is selling good, especially for a PS3 game, but that was expected!) |
Obviously, yes
I originally wanted to point that out, too but I didn´t want to make the post too long.

Two days of sales for a game is normal for first week, though. Nintendo for example always releases its games on Fridays and most other publishers are doing so, too.
So the game sold less than 400k and is sold out at most places.
Based on retail preorder you would have expected Sony to ship 1 Million copies.
So where are the mission 600 000 copies ????
GT4P only sold 540,000 copies in the EU (others) so this incarnation has a great chance of beating that number in just a few weeks :D
I wonder how GT5 will do, the series usually has sales >8 million so will this game be any different?

A pre-order doesn't necessarily mean that all copies will be shipped the first week. A retailer might order a certain amount for the first week, then order some more copies on following weeks for restocking. In both cases, they would be counted as a pre-order.

That explains a lot
Well in that case fishy then the game still has a chance at hitting the 1 million sales in Others :D
It would be a surprise anyway as that would make it the best selling Prologue yet!

GT 5 Prologue is around 249NOK here, roughly 250-300NOK less than full games.
