Forums - Nintendo - Due to new rumors about the Nitnendo Switch, Havin' 2nd thoughts on buying it...

I am NOT a graphics person at all, I am not a power person... but I am a money saving person!

We all read about the dissapointing information about the Nintendo Switch's power....and its not good at all. ITS AROUND WII U LEVEL infact aaannnd that's not good at all. But thats what throws me off abit. Like despite the games, its a little upgrade for the console and a DOWNGRADE if you take it out of the dock. I'll admit, I wanted the Switch to ATLEAST top the Xbox One S console but damn, it's barely topping its PREVIOUS console? It's dissapointing.

Why the power effects my purchase: Why would I buy Splatoon and Mario Kart for full price all over again? I don't see any other games I want yet beside those 2 (The delays sorta ruined Breath of the Wild for me) and when the graphics are the same and a little more dlc? I don't really care for the handheld tablet idea either. I bought a New 3DS XL this year and I barely use it. I got it because I had money, and 3DS is great handheld and I wanted to keep a 3ds handheld forever. So I bought the new 3ds xl.

I  just can't imagine myself buying slightly more powerful console when theres not much of a difference.

What will make me buy a Nintendo Switch: The games. The games will always be the reason I'll buy a new console. I do plan on getting the Switch when the great new Nintendo games comes out, but as of right now no Switch games interests me and we'll have to wait and see what they come out with at launch line up.

It looks like 2017 is another year of PS4. Looks like I'll get the PS4 Pro over the switch this year. (I have a 4K screen and i'm taking advantage of it, thats why im getting the Pro)

Why are people judging the switch before the actual reveal? Based off of the half a dozen games we know about for the thing I don't want one either but there's obviously going to be way more revealed on the 12th

Waiting until there`s games you want on it does sound like the best move, for any console really.

This. Hence I don't know why this neutral and rational opinion need its own thread. That's what your own wall is for.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I'll be waiting until the actual event and official info is confirmed about the thing from Nintendo or Nvidia themselves before making judgement. It's only a few weeks away.

Don't buy it. Wait 3 years. More than likely those will be the best 3 years of Switch's life. Play the games you want, then sell it immediately. More than likely Nintendo will have already have their support for it tapering off and are now developing new games on their next console.

Because rumors are true and we already know the entire line-up up to 2018.

Can people PLEASE wait until January 12th before deciding.

I understand your concerns but until this is official from Nintendo's event its best to not let yourself get upset.

besides, considering the ps4 lineup next year, it would be PS4 year regardless.

Oh there, this is all a matter of perspective. PS4 lineup next year doesn't even tickle me.

Id but it for sub 150 on launch day.

The power is just a joke.

Exactly, unless you are one of those strange individuals that buys console's on launch, like Ace over here.
