Forums - Gaming - Nintendo Switch and NES Classic were Googled more than PlayStation VR, PS4 Pro, or Xbox One in 2016

They should have been looking up Droid Moto Z Force. Best phone on the market!

Sounds like a '90s shmup.

So à new console name is more googled than just a console upgrate or à tool ?

Quite .... Not impressive? The opposite would be more worrying

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Well we know for name of that new console just less than 2 months and actually we had just one Switch trailer without any marketing from Nintendo, so Switch being on NO 5. of "top 10 most Googled consumer-electronics tech products" in whole year is actually quite impressive.

They aren't 12 month contract, they're often 2-3 years and there is a massive thing with them though, unless you sign up for insurance on the phone (which costs more) if you drop or damage the phone you need to shell out a massive amount to have it replaced or else you are left paying your bill every month and have no phone to show for it.

Phone contracts are an amazing money spinning device which are very heavily pushed by phone stores here, find it strange you havent' encountered them too much.

I know of them, but even if its a 3 year contract and you get every Iphone for like 10 years, then the phone stores have to pay more than what you pay them. Just seems weird. I guess they get the phones way cheaper.

Oh yeah they would do, but also you have to think of the fact that it is tying you into using that company for the next 4 years, as in they are willing to take a little loss to make sure they have you as their customer, if you want to break those contracts they normally come with a huge fee to do so and the phone still belongs to the company so it has to be given back to the store if you do breach the contract.

Also a lot of places are now pushing things like "free calls to our own network" so again they make it so while 1 member of a family is tied into the network for a few years say if it was the parent, the parent is then encouraged to buy their kids the same network "pay as you go phone" so they have free calls to the kids, even though the other phones aren't directly tied into the contract there is a reason to make sure you are all using the one provider once you have one person in a family tied into a contract.

Yeah really class to see so much interest in the Switch, I hope that they show off a great price in Jan and that machine has no launch hiccups like rrod or so, such a powerful little handheld console, after people thinking that the Vita would be the last sort of traditional handheld, even though this has the dock for TV out it still very much can work as a full time handheld device.

It would more interesting to have a comparison between Swith in 2016 and PS4 and Xbox one in 2013

or if Wii U was often googled before its launch too.

that too

They didn't need to, switch went viral on social media.

And the NES classic also went viral on social media, demand was huge.

Basicly, Nintendo relased just one Switch trailer and showcased it at Jimmy Fallon show (but I am not sure that was considerd in this list beacuse that was last week), no other advertise at all.

Your counter to me agreeing they didn't advertise it to tell me they didn't advertise?

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Now, let's see how much of this interest will turn into sales.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

So we have one system with almost no information, and another one that is extremely hard to find.

I'm actually surprised they aren't higher. I mean only 5th?
I have no clue what "Google Pixel" is, or why people googled an OS so much.

Probably to see what additions on the new OS will have?
