It launches.

Seriously, we already have a base understanding of what it will have at launch.

$250~$300
3D Mario, MK8+, Splatoon+
handful of 3rd party games (obvious yearly titles plus some other)
VC support of some kind
Indie games

What else do I need? So long as price is good with a few games day one, that is all anyone should care about.

I'm waiting to hear if the wii remote/classic controller/pro controller will be supported. My main wish is the pro controller. For $50, I'd love to have my favorite controller still supported.

It'd also be neat if there's wireless on the mobile version. Perhaps make a $35 wireless gamecube controller for sm4sh/potential melee?

I'd bet the wiiu pro-controller is supported, but the joycons (motion and IR) will already work like wiimotes so I'm not entirely sure if that will come over.

Also, the console is the portable device. It definitely supports wireless controllers (joycons and NS pro) when docked or portable. Or did you mean something different in terms of wireless?

I'm not happy with the options in the poll because none of them reflect my intentions and motivations. But the closes it the down with Nintendo one. Since really there isn't much that would convince me to buy Switch since Nintendo pretty much doesn't offer anything in it's exclusive stable that makes me think "I really want to play that". And regardless of 3rd party support, it seems almost certain that 3rd party titles will run better or at least equally on platforms I already own. And finally handheld gaming doesn't particularly interest me, aside from playing Klondike solitaire and Sudoku on my phone.

So unless someone can come up with something I haven't thought of there doesn't seem to be anything that would convince me to buy Switch.

Well there is one thing. If my son wants one and asks for one for a birthday present, and even then he'll have to pay half.

I forgot about achievements... if it has that I'm getting it like day one

- No more game droughts
- No more delays
- More ambitious first party games
- More first party games that aren't E-rated cartoons
- A ground-up HD Monster Hunter game
- A new Zelda in the style of the 2011 tech demo, out before 2021

Also:

- An ambitious 3D Mario with big open worlds like 64

- An ambitious new IP from Retro that isn't E-rated or cartoony

- A proper AAA Metroid

- Bayonetta 3

Ooh yeah Bayonetta. That would be a system seller for me.

Bayonetta 2 announced as a Wii U exclusive was the tipping point for me in terms of "I need to own this console".

Even a 4 hour battery life would be enough for me. That's basically it. I've always bought at least 1 Nintendo console per gen. Both about half the time. I'm already sold.

Nothing at launch. But a high install base comprised of core gamers plus a proper 2d or 3d metroid adventure and I'll probably get one in 2-3 years after launch.

Would you get it if it had a great selection of games, but no metroid?
