I like more strategy than action so... FF Brave Exvius is an clear example of what the turn based can be adding in any jrpg...

In Sony We Trust!

Play some western turn based game (divinity, xcom), next play some japanese action game (dmc, bayonetta), and then we can discuss abt this topic. Why would some ppl here bring some of the worst examples to demonstrate the strength of both types of gameplay (witcher, pokemon, ff)

Real time combat is way more intuitive so I pick that one ...

Turn based is better because I like that on more. /t

My favorite RPGs are turn-based, so I guess that one..

just get rid of random encounters. perhaps the most archaic and rubbish game system still in use today.

Still better than escort missions.

I so agree with you. Some RPGS are too traditional in that sense, and although I don't mind traditionalism, random encounters can get really annoying really fast.

Zelda 1 got it right. I'm currently playing Dragon Warrior 1 and the grinding is just fucking ridiculous. Being able to see your enemy and choose to kill it or not is much more engaging and less monotonous.

I prefer action more than turn based but I do like some turn based. However I hate those strategic ones where you waste a turn to move your characters position or where you have to move across the map to attack the enemy.
