Forums - Politics Discussion - Carrier just showed corporations how to beat Donald Trump

Uh... do you want the jobs or not?
They're going to keep some of them here now. Not all, but its better than having them all shipped off isnt it? Seems like a super bad and cheap way to go after Trump already.

This should be no surprise at all. Donald Trump is part of the corporate elite, obviously he's in favour of helping them, although no one should be surprised: the whole point of the American government is to further the interests of the elite, and has been since its inception.

Even Bernie flip-flopped on that issue.

He didn't flip flop. He wanted Carrier to stay, not to get a tax cut.

lol. ya the president elect can slap on a tarriff.

Liberals might think it is bad business... but that means nothing.

He certainly could have implied it will be the first thing that happens after he is sworn in. Instead he rolled over and let a thousand people lose their jobs. And he is celebrating it.

I find it funny that his haters are spinning themselves dizzy to someone turn 1100 jobs that were definitly going away and now are staying into a bad thing. This is a losing strategy...

I should take Napolean's advice... when I see the adversaries making mistakes not to interupt them....

What's wrong with tax cuts for corporations? I don't understand this narrative.

leftist don't understand economics. They think you can have free trade and heavily tax corporation and expect them to stay here and provide US jobs. Socialist like Bernie do not like to see any taxes go down. That is less money they can steal to buy votes.

If you want socialism to work you need a closed society.

If you want want capitalism to work (on a global scale) you need to implent controls to level the differing economies.

Completely free trade will never work for the richer countries (long term) until economic conditions WW have parity. The globalist have tried to achieve this by gutting the US manufactoring base through trade deals and obscene amounts of red tape. They have brainwashed their minions that no one wants these jobs and they will never come back. People like you have seen in this thread buy into this.

Leftist go nuts over the idea that a simple tax break of 7 mil over 10 years throws their theory on it's it. They are going to go ballistic when regulations are reduced, taxes cut, and local governments offer further incentives. The US economy has been retarded by bad policy. I believe it is going make up for lost time.

Its taking note of his supposed tough stance and showing that it isn't a tough stance. And him celebrating it. There's still tons of jobs lost and he is out holding a victory tour. It just shows that he'd rather celebrate himself instead of mourning that he couldn't save all the jobs.

this is why no one can take the media seriously. About a week after the election I saw on CNN they were discussing how Trump had not had some sort of victory rally yet when most president elects have one with that time. Now when he holds one the narrative is it is showing how self absorbed he is.

Stop reading Slate. Stop reading Huffpo. Stop watching CNN. Foxnews. MSNBC. Ignore all "commentary" and pundits. Listen to what people actually say and form your own conclusions. Your arguments sound identical to what I saw from Slate yesterday.

When the media starts doing the news again they will regain some trust.

I actually have no idea what most of those places you are talking about. All I gotta use is my own eyes. Trump lets a thousand jobs go. Trump brags about him saving a few.

Whee. There's that great america we've been waiting for.

I thinks its good to listen to commentary from various sources, left, right, and between. Maybe you'll get some facts others ignore.

But too often it seems like the left works the hardest to spin a story.

When jobs leave on Obama's watch people said those were low skill jobs we dont need. Trump compromising to keep jobs around seems like a better scenario.
