"I think Xbox will beat PS4 handily in the US for December"

Based on?

And never mind the absolute impulsive nature of the post.

Well i dont think his post was an impulse post. We know that PS4 won by 100k in November(you can keep denying it but its been backed up by 2 insiders in neogaf, and WC has a good track record) Last months Amazon rankings were

PS4 Slim Uncharted 4 bundle: #3
New 3DS XL (Lime Green): #20
XBO S 500GB Battlefield 1 bundle: #21
PS4 Pro: #22
XBO S 1TB Battlefield 1 bundle: #32
XBO S 500GB Minecraft bundle: #34
XBO S 500GB BF1 bundle + 3-month XBL card: #63
NES Classic Edition: #85
New 3DS XL (Super Mario black): #99

This months thus far

PS4 Slim Uncharted 4 bundle: #2
XBO S 500GB Battlefield 1 bundle: #20
XBO S 500GB Minecraft bundle: #22
PS4 Pro: #70
XBO S 1TB Gears 4 bundle: #72
XBO S 1TB Battlefield 1 bundle: #74
NES Classic Edition: #78
New 3DS XL (Super Mario black): #84

What we can take from this using the "rumored" 100k gap is that the Pro has preorders dating back to September and it ranked a lot higher than this month. This month we had the Minecraft bundle rank higher also. Now the Pro pre orders are eliminated and the Pro is doing worse plus the XB1 is ranking higher its a safe bet saying Xbox One could win December.

I called it impulsive because it ignores the very trends of the thread material. It also positions doom on a company for no good reason at all. It then goes as far as making outlandish claims about Activision's business decisions (why this is ignored by a few of you is troubling, but it is what it is). Also, the "insiders" on GAF are suddenly propped, but I recall several of you making claims that we shouldn't take anything from that site seriously.

Bottom line, before this month, very few gave "multiple bundles" on Amazon much weight, particularly when they were losing to a console that held the #1-#3 spots on the hourlies.

So you mustn't believe that Amazon can accurately predict the outcome of NPD anymore. Only logical explanation for your continued skepticism.

What trends were being ignored?

I don't know if it was for no good reason. All he did was say that Sony doesnt deserves to be the #1 console in December because of the lack of variety bundles. Also if this was the case why did you only quote the part when he said XB1 could win the month?

So we can't question how a company runs their business now? I see nothing wrong with saying Activision should have made Sony bundle Cod a lot quicker especially when their competition is getting mass bundled and also overall getting more love.

Who made these claims about the neogafers? I know i didn't and in the November NPD thread didn't you say you trust some neogafers?

Your mr nice guy facade as well and truly slipped lately, the ammount of crying you did in the NPD november thread and in here, do you really need to constantly call out and bully people who say xbox wil beat ps4 in x month? are you scared Ps4 could lose December? lmfao.

User was warned for this post ~ CGI

I think that attack on CGI wasn't necessary. Questioning isn't bullying and he always puts across good points and backs up his opinions very well. People are entitled to their opinion and people are entitled to question your opinions.

Btw, how are ya? Not spoke in a while!

- I do trust some GAFers. Yup. Doesn't mean I will give any and all credit to them without word from an official source.

- What trends are being ignored? Well, tell me, what would lead him to think that the Xbox One will win December? I mentioned bundles. That can be the only conclusion anyone can draw (if we're using Amazon, that is).

- Nothing wrong with questioning a business decision, but he made an absolute claim (big difference).

Now answer this - do you still think Amazon can accurately predict the outcomes of NPD results?

Ok but Aqua was a gafer and shes also an official source so why cant we trust gafers that have leaked insider stuff before like Aqua?

I already sort of answered this http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8216298

I see no claim he said " If I was activision, I'd be pissed. Their major competitor, Battlefield 1, had its partner promote the hell out of it. Commercials and ads galore, Xbo bundles, special edition battlefield 1 Xbox ones, etc." by saying "If" i think that disqualifies it from being a claim.

I think that Amazon still can but we will need to take into account some things like pre orders, if there are better deals elsewhere. But i also think Amazon can be wrong. Look at October that month it showed that PS4 would win and thats because there were overall more people buying a PS4 than XB1 from Amazon that month but with all the retailers XB1 came out on top that month. Yes i believe Amazon can still get it right but i still think it can get it wrong.

You left out the rest of the Activision bit (the "key" bit, in fact): "I think Sony not only stands to lose their momentum in the US, but also stands to lose activision as a partner". That is an absolute claim.

Regarding Amazon getting it wrong, of course they can. That isn't what's up for dicussion. My questioning of his post is based on what I see from Amazon, and based on that observation, made no sense to me.

Well you missed that he missed the words "i think". Based on the fact that they waited so long to bundle CoD IW in the US while BF1 was bundled a lot. Personally i disagree with him but since he wrote "i think" it still doesn't look like he was making an absolute claim but just a prediction on the future of Sony and Activision.

Well its not that hard to understand using the "100k" rumor PS4 won last month and it had months of preorders for the Pro. This month the Pro is a low lower in the monthly and the XB1 Minecraft bundle is a lot higher, also there is no Pro preorders so people like him and me believe the XB1 could take December. Its a We could be right or we could be wrong its not rocket science.

The problem with the last paragraph is that it doesn't put everything into consideration. Yes, there aren't Pro preorders for the PS4 to benefit from. However, this is the first month since August that Microsoft has not released a new SKU. At the beginning of November, Microsoft released a Gears 4 blue XBO bundle at entry price which was further discounted to $249 on BF. The blue XBO looked really good and you could get that at a great price, so it definitely had a hand in sales especially during a month that is dictated by price. Final Fantasy XV favors the PS4 more than XBO due to multiple factors: larger JRPG fanbase, inherent bigger word of mouth, and bigger enthusiasm for singleplayer-based games among the PS userbase. The XBO seemed to have the better deals from Dec. 11-24, but the PS4 deals also last for a longer duration. The COD bundle was announced late, but it appeals to a different demographic from Uncharted 4.

It's irritating when people (on both sides, by the way) make conclusive statements or predictions without considering all variables.

I didn't miss the "I think" portion, because it's still an impulse. It's not based on any real tangible problem that stems from deals Activision has with Sony.

As for "Rocket Science", you're right. But then, I'm not sure why you say that as if you have said something indisputable. It's very simple - we're talking about Amazon trends showing the PS4 winning the month, while skeptics aren't just using that site to make opposing claims.

Well arent all predictions impulse then? Such as the NPD prediction threads and other prediction threads? Also it could be said that the wait it took Sony to bundle IW in the US is a problem. Its the first time since BO1 that there was no bundle. The BO1 situation was bit different because some of the esports `moved to PS3 that year but this year all the esports and marketing/exclusive DLC is all on PS4 so thats enough evidence that there might be a problem.

Well its hard to tell if PS4 is winning the month but if the PS4 at #2 and PS4PRO at #70 in the monthly outsell all other XB1 bundles then yea but if the XB1 bundles are outselling the PRO and slim then XB1 is winning. We dont know how big the gap is from #2 to #20etc.

I made my prediction based on what Amazon is showing. Amazon can be wrong but if it is right then i see XB1 winning because like i said Pro preorders are out and Pro is a lot lower than last month while the Minecraft bundle is a lot higher. But the monthly isnt over and like you said the COD bundle is coming this last week so the monthly could change. As for the PS4 deals lasting longer earlier today i clicked on the XB1 and saw its still at $250.

Predictions impulsive? Some are, some aren't. They can also be impuslive and outlandish. But we've run this particular talk into the ground, so let's move on.

Now as for the winner of December, using Amazon, we currently have a clear and decisive front-runner.

So you know how big the gap is between #2 and #20? If so please share.

Which is a very flawed methodology because it was wrong in September and October, so the best course of action is to consider all variables, as I have already stated above. The Minecraft bundle is a lot higher, but does it negate the PS4 potentially winning Nov. 27 - Dec. 10 + Dec. 25 - Dec. 31? Did the XBO even outsell the PS4 during the Dec. 11 - Dec. 24 period and by how much? Is that buying period bigger than Nov. 27 + Cyber Monday even though Cyber Monday was bigger than BF online? Also, the XBO is not officially sold at $250. Those XBO's you're seeing being sold at $250 are done by 3rd party sellers.

EDIT: You also need to consider the size of Amazon relative to Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target. Checking their online websites, the XBO is being sold at $300.
