i'm not 100% sure we are going to see FFXV taking advantage of scorpion... i mean, there is a good chance that FFXV will not have a patch for Scorpion.

...just saying

I dont understand how anyone can gather that when Square took out the time to optimize the game for two Sony platforms on one disc. This is Square that we're talking about and not someone else who doesnt have the time and resources to do it. The way games are dealt with today, the game will more than likely be patched. Its understandable for past games to have missed the boat for a patch even with the pro, but we all know how Microsoft is and how Microsoft loves to shadow Sony. Final Fantasy is the franchise that they will want to boast about having the superior version of.

What you say makes sense, but ... as you said, "past games to have missed the boat for the patch" ... how big is it going to be the time gap between final fantasy XV release and scorpion release? And more than that, how big will Final Fantasy's demand be on the Xbox platform?

Depending on these two factors, we may never see a patch for scorpion that makes FFXV, and other games of 2016, doing justice to Scorpion Power.

They'll want to boast about having the best version of a game that came out a year ago? Hardly the best tactic.

PS4 Pro hasn't seen that many old 3rd party titles updated, I don't see why it'll be any different with Scorpio, and considering the probably lackluster sales on Xbox for FFXV it's even less likely that square enix will bother.

I wouldn't expect to see many 2016 titles be updated for Scorpio, A PlayStation/Japanese Centric franchise is even less likely to happen.

If you are doing it and really want the 4k HDR at the best presentation possible do your gaming PC now instead of waiting 1 year to know how good and cheap will be Scorpio.

just like Sony shadowed Microsoft for 4 years with the ps4 and now they shadowed them 1 year early with Pro? you seem to not understand how things work, we don't know the price of Scorpio yet, if it's more than $500 then it will be a harder flop than the wii u, nobody is going back to patch games for a wii u success like console

Sony shadowed Microsoft? When Sony launched the PS4 Microsoft saw how powerful the PS4 was an struggled to push the clockspeed before launch so they could launch with Sony. One rule of business that Microsoft has learned is never to launch after Sony. You either launch before them of alongside them and leave it up to the market.  Sony left the door wide open for Microsoft to go beyond mirroring what they aimed to do. Microsoft doesnt need a scorpio. They straddle the lines between PC and console gaming, so really this is overdoing it. Im getting it though. Ecocomically speaking, Microsoft isnt looking to make a large amount of Scorpio's. I mean, its should be obvious on a sales site that they will be selling limited quanities of a console that will yield premium results in the console realm. They are throwing Sony's 4k Blu Ray back at them....you know the same blu ray they tried to kill off last gen and failed.

The ps4 pro come out BEFORE FF15. SE had plenty of time to patch it for the playstation and the pro. That is far different than patching a year old game.

The game will have to sell quite well on xbox for SE to put time/effort into creating a patch for a game a year old.

The big games for scorpio will be gears/forza/Halo - not FF15 in a year.

Actually...not really. You must not have read about what Mark Cerny Said about devs upgrading for the PS4 Pro. Don't be so selective when the truth has been spoken out loudly by the man, himself. If you k now Microsoft, if Sony had a pro version of FFXV made, bet your bottom dollar that the scorpio is getting a version as well.

We dont have PC confirmed yet and I rarely ever play on PC anymore. Good suggestion though, but PC is like not even secondary to the Japanese.

maybe they should try throwing a couple actual native 4k bluray movies too, becuase you probably can watch all the 4k native movies that are out right now in 2/3 days

and so what if MS overclocked the xb1 at launch? isn't titanfall 2 dynamic resolution dropping to 720p and under while ps4 is 1000p-900p? and battlefield 1 doesn't run at ~720p on xb1 while 1000p on ps4 dynamic resolution too? same with final fantasy 15, dynamic resolution 900p-720p xb1, 1080p-900p ps4, you said they oveclocked the xb1 like that changed anything, games are still a lot better on ps4 and will be till xb1 dies and beyond, if you wanted games that look better on xbox you had to wait from nov 2013 till nov 2017, WOW

I'm not even sure square will take the time to patch graphics on the scorpio.

This is an xbox you are talking about -- the console that JRPGs sell like shit on.

...and yet Square put the game on the console. Cerny said making a pro versio of games takes 1% of resoruces, so what does that say for the Scorpio on a game thats already been optimized for the pro? Are you guys trying hard to hold up the bias or what?

When they thought the xbox would be the prevalent console....

Have you not notice the other games skipping the XB1?
