when did i say that and what would that have to do  with anything?

Youre argument was that the only advantage Switch has over this device is Nintendo games, im pointing out that the Nintendo ecosystem has 100s of games found nowhere else.

but steam has thousands of those games. i dont think it matters.

that hasnt seemed to help Steam Machines too much.

I just cant imagine a large group of people willing to spend $300-500 to play their Steam games on the go.

Can you see a large group of people willing to spend $250-300 to play Nintendo and some third party games on the go?  If not, the switch will basically sell to the same people who got a wii u right (that got the system JUST for the nintendo games)?

Also steam machines were basically PC. The didnt had any advantage a normal pc hadnt (you can hook up a PC to a TV as well) but played less games (SteamOS), were ALOT more expensive then similar powerfull PCs and were also just as strong as console (but for 2x the priece). A normal PC was just superior in almost all cases.

You can hook up a PC to a TV to basically have a steam machine. But you cant take your PC to play on the go. So its definitly not compareable.

umm yes, this is the successor not only to Wii U but also 3DS which will have sold a combined 80 million by the time Switch releases so there are clearly millions of people willing to buy hardware for the sole purpose of playing Nintendo games & 3rd party exclusives.

There is evidence to support the idea of people  desiring Nintendo hardware & software, the same cannot be said for a kickstarter funded portable Steam Machine.

So your thinking people are gonna switch from a 80-150$ (2ds/3ds) device to a 250-300$ deivce (switch).

The problem omgfk faces is that the reality is this device does not compete with Switch. It competes with PC, laptops, and tablets. Nobody with the right frame of mind would spend that much money on something with such a small return. I already asked omgfk to explain why I would want one and he gave me no reason at all to justify paying 300 for that thing, let alone 500.

Switch, while similar in design, has a different market demographic than this crappy device. This device is going after budget PC gamers with no standards... I am not saying this device will fail because I have no idea what the market dictates anymore. However, I do not see the two products as competing directly like omgfk thinks they will be. My laptop and my daughter's tablet make this trash useless (it runs all the same software at equal or better quality, is more diverse in its usage, has higher resolution, and I already have one) but I still have desire for Switch because my laptop and tablet do not affect its appeal (mainly the exclusive games, the controller itself, and the NIntendo features). The thing's competition is not Nintendo, and I hope you understand that now.

You do realize that the $200 sku is by far the most popular one right?

Also there is this thing called a price cut, most video game devices recieve a few of them over the course of their life so just because Switch is launching at $250/300 does not mean it will be a year or 2 from now.

So no i do not expect the people who bought a 2DS in the last year or two to buy a Switch right away, I believe a good deal of people who bought a 3DS or Wii U early on to get a Switch early on.

Are you an idiot? Nintendo fans would probably care to hate it if it was in competition with Nintendo... that is why there are console wars, after all.

Nothing you say makes any sense. And you have not given any reason for someone like me, someone that thinks this product is trash on its merits alone (and not in comparison to anything Nintendo related), a reason to buy it. Not a 3-5 hundred dollar reason. This thing is a piece of hot garbage and you know it.

Yes, Nintendo fans like Nintendo games, big shocker.

You say there are just some millions Nintendo fans, well there are just some thousand Smach Z fans, its going to sell like Ouya or other Steam Machines, its a device with no clear market and all of its games are available on existing devices.

The thing is no Nintendo fans on this site would even be talking about this thing if you didnt bring it up, we dont hate or even dislike it, we just dont care about it.

you keep trying to make senseless comparisons and for someone who isnt a Nintendo fan or interested in Switch, you sure do make alot of threads about it, do you feel threatened by it or something?
