Forums - Sony - So I'm a fool. Can I get a refund?

Just called them. While I was waiting, they gave me the email address to IM them. The associate answered the phone after about 10 minutes.

Him: Hi, my name is _____. How can I be of service?
Me: Hi. My name is *my name* There was a sale on PSN earlier today. I purchased the wrong game. I bought Star Wars Battlefront when I meant to buy Battlefront Deluxe Edition.
Him: Oh? *Hangs up*
Me: Well, damn!

So I instant messaged. I got connected to a woman named Sandra. At first she said I couldn't get the refund because I've already done this before. I asked her when and with what game? After a pause, she said "Good news! Your refund is approved!"

So I got the money back on my wallet. I'll buy the right game when I get home from work. I took screenshots of the IM conversation with my phone in case she did something shady. She was mostly cool but I'm disappointed overall with the experience. Yes, I fucked up and they were helping me but two different associates almost failed me.

Haha, so the funny part was that the first guy just hang up?! While in fact he fixed the refund right after.

Cool story.

The guy hung up. The lady solved the problem but first she said she couldn't give be a refund because I'd done this before--which I hadn't.

Still, the story has a happy ending so I can't complain too much.

I've done refunds about ten or so times in the past. every now and then they say "We're sorry, we can't", so I tell them to put on a manager.

I tell the manager to look at my total transaction history when he/she gets on, and about three minutes later they approve the refund. Apparently pointing out what a reliable customer you are helps a bunch, too.

I actually typed up a reply about how much I've spent in the last month but I deleted and just typed "It's okay if you can't".

Maybe when I asked when and with which game, I saw my purchase history--probably thousands of dollars--and realized a $7.50 refund wasn't that big of a deal. Hell, I'm planning on spending at least $100 today just to use that 10% discount to the fullest.

Ugh I'm a fool too. I picked up SW battlefront second hand today to save downloading 21GB of data, since it was only $5 more. Frigging pointless! Now it's downloading a 17.5GB patch, wtf! Sometimes I hate this gen.
5 hour download and a big chunk of my monthly limit.

At least I have the satisfaction EA is not getting my money for not including a single player campaign. They had a stack of them in store btw, next to a stack of NMS lol. (That was still priced at $45, optimists)

You shouldn't buy it. Latter DLC packs are pay-to-win. So you either will get destroyed without the DLCs or will be trapped in boring matches where you have a ridiculous unfair advantage.

Try any Hero vs Villaisn match where someone uses Lando. He is invincible if you're at least decently skilled.

Oh, the joys of having to deal with customer 'service'. At least you got it sorted out in the end. :)

I'm only interested in the X-Wing psvr mission that comes out December 6th. I don't mind checking out the supposed great visuals of the game since I have to download it all anyway, but will only seriously play the psvr part. Not interested in online pew pew :)

Ofcourse I'll be an even bigger fool if the psvr mission gets a standalone digital download after all!

Spending so much again? But you've just been on a huge spending spree with PS4 Pro and PS4 VR and all!

So you gonna spend $100 on what exactly this time?

The deed is done. Bought Rise of the Tomb Raider (gotta try that VR mode!), Battlefront, and Uncharted ND Collection.  After the $10 rebate they sent me a couple of weeks ago for no apparent reason and that 10% off code, it all cost me about $70.

That sounds very lovely. I consider myself lucky to have never bought this game. I almost bought a physical copy 2 days ago because it was about as cheap as it gets up here ( $19.99 ) ,but stopped myself. Was never going to open it, but I can think of half a dozen strictly pizza-based options that are better than supporting a multi-only game from EA that will do naught but sit in a cabinet.
