Forums - Sales Discussion - NPD PS4 vs XB1 2016 Battle

XBO is looking better than it did at the start of the year. Hopefully it continues to do better.

Like I said, I think Nov will be very close but Sony will take the lead.

I'm guessing similar numbers as last year.

PS4 around 1.5m, Xbox One around 1.2m for November

Then December, I think PS4 down slightly at 1.4m, and Xbox One up a bit at 1.3/1.4m.

PS4 Pro(and all the other Sony deals) + FF XV + FF XV Luna PS4 = Taking November and December.

I'd be shocked if it didn't.

PS4 should win November and December. If PS4 only wins by 100k in November then i think XB1 will win December.

This is off topic but Prinz is amazing lol. He was in the last 4 threads I have read with different accounts. That is literally INSANE! He truly loves this site! I have said it before and I will say it again his dedication is other worldly lol!

Back on topic

I wonder if the PS4 will be flat or up YoY for Nov? I really can't see it being down. This month will be very interesting and I can't wait to see what happens next month! Both consoles will do very good both months though.

This may sound crazy, but I kinda wish the PS4 is down in November and December YOY. That's the only thing that would make Sony look at how much their PS4 is and actually start competing with the XB1 on pricing.  Cause right now it's almost as if sony isn't doing all they can cause they know they are gonna sell better regardless.

Obviously the PS4 will win. I'LL be LMAO if it doesn't XD

I'm gonna LMAO when it does xD

OT:

I'm shocked ps4 has such a big lead.  over 400k coming into pro month.  2016, year of the ps4 even in the US of A! Great to see it though.

You should see last year's numbers. By this time last yeat the PS4 also had a lead of around 500k, the difference for the year of 2016 alone is that the PS4 has conceded 250k+ of its lead to MS in the last 4 months alone and it's still 400k clear.

It's only 211k as numberss pointed out, right column adds up to 2210k not 2012k unless your numbers are wrong. (I sense a typo)
Pretty close battle. I don't know if the pro will deliver, between DF highlighting frame rate problems and nearly invisible upgrades and the HDR compatibility debacle, this whole mid gen upgrade might end in a big meh. November probably, December is going to be interesting. I would not be too surprised if XBox One manages to catch ps4 sales this year, MS has far better marketing and bundle deals.

At least here in Canada I did not get the impression that the pro is selling a lot. It has been regularly available since day 1. Thanks to our dollar it's also $100 more than ps4 was at launch, $120 more than a regular 500gb ps4 with game or 1tb gears of war 4 xbox one s bundle.
Kinda odd that the XBox One S is advertised with 4K at Bestbuy, ps4 pro is not. There are 8 XBox One S bundles against 1 boring plain ps4 pro with zero reviews and more expensive than even the 2tb Gears of War 4 special edition. Only 2 ps4 slim bundles, NHL17 or Uncharted 4. Sony just doesn't care.

In all honesty I'm with you on that. It wouldmt reslly surprise me. I expect the PS4 to win, but it won't surprise me if they don't. In a way I domt want them to. Cauee one tbing is clear, MS is making more of an effort to sell their consoles. Sony isn't. I feel Sony needs to rack in some heavy losses here and there for them to take this more seriously. Cauee it's not that the XB1 is in any particular way better. It's just that Sony isn't trying as hard as MS is. As you said just look at the bundle situation. There really isn't a reason that Sony can't bundle three to four games (even if just digitally) with every console they sell.

The games have all already sold well. they have the userbase to afford things like that, and most of the bundled games can be in house games. Imagine every PS4 with Uncharted, R&C,. Bloodborne and Driveclub/infamous. All those games will cost Sony nothing to add.

While Nov may not be as big as a gap as some think, I really can't believe people are thinking it's going to be close. Sony has the Pro, which is doing great on online sites, plus they have a $249 PS4s Bundle, just like MS does. So, it'll basically be a wash for the Slim SKUs, though this is the first time the PS4 has been that cheap, while MS has had firesales that cheap before.
