so people are complaining about 2-3 framerates?  I still rather take the improved 1080p image quality over these frames.

Its a launch period and a new concept what does DF except? They should rather give us analyses about Knacks PS4 Pro mode and recentley launched FFXV demo, all they do is test the same games over again.

It's not just that, though. The Last of Us on the PS4 Pro is also having frame rate drops that the regular and Slim PS4 didn't have.

While pushing 3-6M more pixels (60fps and 30fps modes respevtively) as opposed to the 2M pixels being pushed on the regular PS4. That seems to be a little detail people seem to omit.

Its not surprising some will want to blow this outta proportion, sad when u consider that this isn't happening with all games that has a Pro patch and even DF made that clear pointing out that the majority of the games are all round better. This is a small incident and something that realistically we can write off as teething issues with new hardware and these things will get ironed out soon.

I mean it's obvious these devs don't even know what a "Pro" mode should entail yet with RotTR being the one standout game that seems to have it figured out yet so far.

Already decided to wait a bit longer on the pro so this isn't too bad.

I never understood this resolution vs frame rate debate. I always Prefer my 6+ hr gaming experience with sharper image and playable at 30fps with minor dips here & there, But I cannot stand 6+ hrs of game play with blurry low resolution just for the sake of higher FPS.

Also does PS4 Pro render at 1080p? I mean so far what i have heard is that it only renders above 1080 and down scales or upscale from there. So technically games are demanding more from the Pro, and not to mention games compared here had been optimized for the base PS4 with multiple patches, and Ps4 pro has not.

See, i can say the opposite. I can hardly see any difference between 720p and 1080p. But a 30 to 60fps has a direct impact on how much joy i get from the gameplay. From my pov, i don't understand you, because you seem to be playing the graphics rather than the game.

So meh...

The Pro can do anything btw. This can be easily fixed. Sony has been locking things because presumably they don't want regular ps4 owners to go off at them. But they will unlock these things later for sure.

I think its really all just a lame rhetoric with no real world basis. Just something new to bitch aboit. Kinda like the PS3 cant do grass thingy (which comaored to this was way worse though).

This is an isolated incident and on less than 10% of all PS4pro enhanced games. You'd think that with a little common sense most would see that this is kinds to be expected with launch hardware and devs trying to do do something new and different from what they are accustomed to on consoles. In time they all will know the best way to go about these things.

I feel the real issue here is that devs should give more options or rather more clear cut options.

Some of these opinions are so far out of proportion. I just got a pro, most games look AND run much better on the pro, there are just a few that may need some tweaking. The experience is still far better on the Pro, I assure you.

Just people looking for reasons/excuses to not spend money, nothing new. (Oh yes, and crocodile fears & tears from those outside the target audience.)

Yeah... I thought this thread was about the PS4 Pro running non-pro ps4 games worse than the OG PS4 from the title.... but it's about Skyrim dropping a few frames when running at 4 times the resolution...

Developers just need to tweak things better.

I guess I will be just fine with a regular PS4..

Seems you're playing the fps rather than the game :p

Higher frame rate is nicer, higher res also helps immersion. It depends on the game. If you're focussed on the action nearby, or sidescrollers then higher frame rate is better. If the game is wide open, then better detail in the distance is more important.

Some don't mind the reolution to drop down occasionally, others don't mind a few frame rate dips. Both can break immersion. Dynamic resolution is becoming more and more used nowadays. It would be nice if games had a slider in the options between performance and image quality. The debate between stable image quality and stable framerate will never end.

And yeah the pro can do both, just takes more than a quickly put together patch. New games will be profiled better to sort out occasional bottlenecks.

For me, I was fully immersed in ED: Horizons running 10-15 fps to have the planets look nice on my laptop at 1080p. And I'm enjoying the native 120fps of Trackmania Turbo in VR as well. Depends on the game.

lol my reaction too. I already struggle with Virtual console fps dip in OoT. Cant imagine those drops in an action game.
