Seen some others do a platform breakdown (like 20 pages ago ) and seeing people talk about platforms again I thought I`d do a breakdown for my list too. Also, no games one Sega consoles for me either

Microsoft 13
Nintendo 7
Sony 32
PC 10

Xbox 4
Xbox 360 8
Xbox One 1
N64 3
Wii U 1
GB 2
GBA 1
PS1 5
PS2 7
PS3 15
PS4 4
Vita 1
PC 10

Totals don`t quite add up cuz multiplats, but yeah

Just five PS1 games? Dammit Ka-pi, I expected more from you!

Just five PS1 games? How about zero NES or SNES games?

48- Smash Bros Melee

This is one of the games that defined the 6th gen for me. I've spent so many hours playing Melee, it was simply impossible to put down. I still don't know how to wavedash though..

More hints:
43- One of the biggest surprises of the 8th gen so far.
42-This is where a very important FPS franchise peaked in terms of popularity and sales.
41- Everyone was surprised by the inclusion of a certain chararcter in this game.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I`ve never played a NES or SNES game, they were before my time, first console I owned was either PS1 or N64 I forget which one I got first. So yeah, they didn`t have a chance of making my list

I get it. You should really try out some sometime though.

31- Smash Bros 4 (with the character being Cloud)?

God damn, am I making the hints too obvious?!

Never even heard of that before

I thought it was a pretty easy hint though. Maybe if I were to say it`s a strategy game that would help?

So "I came, I saw, I conquered", a quote from Julius Caesar, combined with a strategy game... Rome Total War?

I don't think my list has any NES games as well, and I played a bunch of them, there are two Master System games, tho, but there is has at least 1 SNES game (I think it might be 2), and I played it a whole lot, a whole damn lot. Games got so much more interestng with the 5th gen, IMO.

I think I have 1 PS1 and 2 N64 games on my list. Not a big fan of the 5th gen tbh.

How did you manage to make a list of 50 great games without listing any games for Sega systems?

Well, maybe he never owned a Sega system (though I remember talking about the Game Gear with him) or he just happens to like more the stuff he choose for the list than the games from Sega he played. I grew up with Sega and my list should have around just 4 or so games from Sega systems, there were just so much good stuff going on together and after Sega was a console maker... it's possible.

My list doesn't have a single XBOX game, by the way (though there are multiplats).

Haha... well I actually own every Sega platform, although my Master System is missing cables and my Game Gear is broke. I never grew up with Sega or had any friends that did either (until recently, a friend of mine became a huge Sega fan) so it never was really on my radar. There are a couple of Genesis/Dreamcast games I want to play though so maybe those will end up on my Top 50 in the future.

#48 Beyond Good & Evil

This was a highly enjoyable puzzle-action game with a very good story and characters to push it above most of its peers. The stop-start teasing for a sequel has been quite annoying, but it finally seems Ubisoft is finally doing something with the IP, which is great for people like me who liked the first game.

Here's a hint for #47:

A third game in a city-cuilding strategy game series from the late 90's. Takes inspiration and is set in an actual historical period during the peak of a certain empire's power.
