Ignoring the fact it looks stupid, is stupid and seem like a greedy corporation trying to save money (which it is) there seems to be an overall issue with items in the UK changing weight, package sizes and what not. For some reason the companies think we want things cheaper so they cut out produce and stuff to keep the prices low but in reality, we don't mind paying just a little more to keep thing the same.

And considering how often a lot of things are on offer, it negates the issue anyway.

Hmm, pie.

Expected. The pound is plummeting so expect a lot of prices to rise or product sizes to shrink.

Then there's the whole Brexit uncertainty which means companies feel they have a good excuse to raise prices.

Thanks Brexit: your money loses value, so you get less for the same amount. (but yes, the new design is ugly)

On the other hand, I can order UK games cheaper than before from France, so not everyone is unhappy (yet) with this situation...

Funny US has made a lot of candy bars smaller for the standard ones but then people just buy 2.

Not sure if you should speak for everyone. For example, I would much rather pay 1 pound in poundland for an item rather than 1.something.

Mondelez (kraft) have ruined a lot of the classic confectionary they took over. I bought a pack of Cadbury Roses the other day. Used to be a nice selection of different chocolates. The quality had been utterly destroyed to the point where I doubt I will ever buy that product again in my life. Many of the Cadbury products have been changed and frankly ruined. In fact turning to lower cost alternatives has actually improved the quality. Turning to supermarkets own brands etc.

Toblerone for me has always been awful though. Not something I've every liked that much so don't care about the change for that.

Changes in product like this require sheep mentality people that just continue to buy the same branded product despite the quality or value reducing. I think even those people controlled by marketing will eventually cotton on and stop buying these inferior products.

There are plenty of confectionery factories in the UK using local ingredients even those owned by US companies like Mars. No need to accept Mondelez inferior products there are many better options for quality and value.

You make it sound like I was aggressive in that statement. I mean, I did say "don't mind" . But that's beside the point. Poundland stuff has it's place, I too buy stuff from there but here is an example of what I mean and something you definitely can't get in poundland. I like, really like, Homepride Chilli but from a can not a jar. It used to be 500ml at £1.60, then recently-ish they changed the content to 400ml at £1.40. Cheaper but less content and less value for money. I'd prefer to pay £1.70 for the 500ml version.

Hmm, pie.

The new design of the bar looks really daft, like a cheap poundland knockoff now. Wouldn't gift this as christmas presents any more.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Tomorrow, Friday, is my candy-day. Once a week I allow myself to eat a candy-bar.
And in honor of this thread I will eat Toblerone for the first time in my life =)

It seems like a big change...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

^^

GRRRRR!!!!!! Toblerone, don't be an a*hole! This pisses me off almost as Ferrero lowering cocoa percentage in Nutella from 10% when I was a kid, down to 8% and recently even lower, 7.4%, replacing the missing cocoa with sugar and palm oil, until it became too sweet and dull for my tastes, so I don't buy Nutella anymore and I switched to Crema Novi, but it's a lot more expensive, and I have to buy it a lot less often.
