I dont think this will be Nintendo's last.

But...

I do feel that Nintendo is pulling out all the stops for this. They're combining their handheld and home console together pooling in all their resources to this one console.

So I would say that the Switch is Nintendo's best effort of trying to make their biggest come-back.

Lets see if their greed kills it.

Im really hopeing for a 249$ price point so they have a fantastic launch.

Nintendo user base has shrunk to just 13m users with the Wii U.

Now is the time to build the userbase.

They have plenty of money in the bank, now they need to not be greedy, and sell this console at break even or slight loss.

249$ price point now, could be a move that ends up makeing them more money down the line.

Agreed. A $249 price point would definitely see the Switch flying off shelves.

I also hope they dont get greedy with their games.  Nintendo's known for not dropping prices on their games for a very long time.

60 million 3DS owners would like a word with you.

Im one of those 3DS owners :p

I know the 3DS did well, but.... the switch is the new handheld & home console.

Handheld users, are more price sensitive than home console buyers though.

I just want to see nintendo do well selling the switch, to handheld users as well.

Switch needs to be able to hit like 75m+ units sold, if this is their future handheld & homeconsole market merged.

Well everything except killing off the 3DS.

I might be one of the few, I have endured all Nintendo main consoles and handhelds since 1985 and I hope they stop making hardware, their hardware has been my least-favourite since the Wii When the Xbox360 and now the PS4 are my main consoles, next year the Scorpio will be my main console.

Either way, Nintendo still makes the best first part games, sure. I liked the last of us, gears of war, halo, forza and uncharted all a lot but the "fun" factor of a pokémon or mario kart or zelda is hard to beat.

I hope one day I can play their main games without having to suffer trough their hardware decisions, which I personally have really hated.

I am deffenitely not alone, but most people do like their consoles, the Nintendo fans anyway, I have huge respect for them, since I know they really want the games and like the experience, but everytime I booted by WiiU for a great game (like splatoon or xenblade) i was thinking....

I wish it would just be on PS4 or/and Xbox one...

Well there is no real sense to kill now 3DS when still is selling and before holiday season when Switch is still not available. Dont Nintendo PR talk fool you, they will start killing 3DS onse Switch become availible in stores.

Well they still have games coming out for it after the Switch launch and Pokemon games are known for selling well even after a year or two on the market.

So!? They need to insure current potential buyers that 3DS will have games next year too, not to mention that most of those games are just ports, spinnofs and small projects, basically like Wii U last year. If you recall Nintendo said Wii U will have games even after Switch came out, we know how that turn out.

If there is even a 30 million player market for their games, they will produce hardware to play it. As long as they don't take losses on the console, and their attach rate is high, they make more money that way.
