Man, Sega Saturn is gonna be huge in Brazil one day.

Just wait till the Dreamcast drops.  NFL 2K will outsell Madden that year.

Yep, official sales may show X1 ahead, but for the first year when you gone to gray market only PS4 was sold (because X1 would only be very little less expensive than official sales so they wouldn't want smaller profits and bigger concorrence) so probably we have more ps4 players than x1 players in Brazil from the offset.

Looking for demand on online stores clearly show more interest on it than on the XBO, you'll always find the PS4 section as the leading section, also on sell and trade online groups on FB the ammount of PS4 games is way bigger than XBO ones.

Also from my personal experience, at least here on SP, PS4 is by far people's interest, I hardly even see people talking about it (XBO), and I dont know a single person who owns one, while I know several who onw PS4s by now (and want PS4s if still stuck on last gen as me).

I really doubt the PS4 doesnt have a confortable lead over the XBO here (state and less country wise).

Yes you are right... I already have friends that felt burned by X360 dropping support on hardcore exclusives after 2011/12 and who bought X1 due to more exclusives on launch feeling burnt again.

I wonder how many Mega Drives were sold in Brazil, it seems like it was really popular there, it even had a Doom port just in that region.

I did had that Mega Drive too, pretty sweet console, even playing it for the first time in 1998 after having a Ps1 I remember enjoying some of its games quite a bit. They were so hard though xD

Btw, Alisia Dragoon and specially Aladdin should be on that list.

I had a friend that constantly tried to make me get a 360 up until 2010, me and another friend were really considering getting one, but both got PS3s.

So skipping to 2013 that 360 friend was now talking about getting the PS4, well, at least before our ridiculous price announcement, he ended getting nothing yet xP

But prior to God of War 3, the 360 was all the talk around here, even my teachers in school were talking about it, my cousin choose one over the PS3, some friends as well, it just really stopped being the case after 2010, when the PS3 picked up.

Well, I'm a bullheaded Sony fan so I didn't even thought about picking X360, even more when GT5 prologue already released when I started working in 2009. And sure some part of relatives had x360 because of pirates and most friends had both systems because they liked FPS (Gears and Halo main culprits) and liked PS1 and PS2. Myself never being interested in FPS saw not much value in X360.

To get you an idea, Master System sold better than NES in Brazil. MS and MD had even more exclusives that used the base of other games, like Wonderboy or something like that became base for Monica and Chapolin games.

I wanted the PS3 more, but it was more expensive and yeah, piracy was still playing a hand.

I ended up holding until I could get the PS3 and all games I wanted for reasonable prices, the games where clearly always a no contest, but the feels like LoD Lost Odyssey really made me consider xD, but I knew I couldnt get a PS3 if I picked it.

About the MS, if I remember well it sold better here than the whole RoW combined (NA, EU, JP), Brazil was the actual reason the system got some relevancy nowdays, and I sure loved mine. Even damn Senna was holding Sonic trophies after winning a gp, Sega and TecToy were the shit here back in the day, and that made Sega downfall hurst us even more... XC

Yes, I was a Sega fanboy at that time. And Senna's Monaco GP was a true great game. I wouldn't doubt MS here doing better than most places.

About PS3, my girlfriend (now wife) had a travel to Canada and brought me a PS3, around 8-10 games and a guitar hero world tour bundle with guitar and drumm for all with 3 years of international warranty for something like 500-700 canadian that was not more than 2000 reais. I don't remember the value right, but it was a lot less than what would cost in Brazil, perhaps it was closer to 1 thousand.

From what I understand, getting new consoles at a resonable price is borderline impossible over there. They still play the Sega Master System over there and it still sells fairly well for the time period. I don't know the exact specifics why but this is the jist of it.

I know some people that used to play it some time ago, but only for nostalgia. Most gamers here just have either a PS3 or an Xbox 360 (Nintendo is virtually dead), but recently I think PS4 and XB1 are starting to take over as most stores and sites focus basically only on them (with other consoles having tiny or secondary sections).

But yeah, you are right about prices, althought things are getting better as you can (officially) find a PS4 for less than $500 (I know, it's still bad, but compared to launch, when it was like $1500, it's much better).

That's interesting to hear

In the middle east it is very similar. however, I'm slowly starting to see people own a GBA/rooted DS. otherwise most people don't even own a console. they just go to Internet areas and play on a playstation/xbox at a rate of $1.5/hr.

As of now the PS4 is approximately $700+ alone. heck, the galaxy s6 is still in the high 700's as well. I feel bad for middle income/developed regions since products are so damn expensive. Fortunately they can still afford cheap consoles

Was? Dont you let Sanic down!

Also, Sonic Mania seems so damn good, Im feeling like a kid waiting for it, they are even finally making that scrapped Mega Drive Desert zone to it, so freaking awesome.

Well, they don't keep me feed on great games anymore =[ . But I have to say that I even played the new and strange altered beast.

Palestine/jordan. it's a very popular thing for guys to do in the ghettos. even if I don't want to play games or go on a computer, I'm usually just chilling with people.
