So the BOTW switch port isn't ready it seems, yet I still believe the Wii U version is sat there finished and could quite easily have launched this holiday if Nintendo chose.

IMO there is no changes that will Nintendo release first Wii U versions and before Switch version of game, in any case.

Nintendo wants to use BotW as a system seller early on. If Nintendo had released it now, a lot of WiiU owners wouldn't have a major reason to upgrde, if they release the WiiU version during the NS launch and wait for the NS version of BotW, the console might end up compeeting for attention with the WiiU. And if they don't release the WiiU version, a lot of people will complain, and for very good reasons. Nintendo has to launch both versions of BotW at the same time, as soon as the NS launch as they can. They don't hav that many choices here.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

They will something similar like they done with Zelda TP, they will release Switch version and couple weeks later Wii U version.

That brings us to the month of November. More sources have now come forward and corroborated my information. They’ve told me that localization for Breath of the Wild might not be finished until the end of December. After localization is completed, this game will require between (at least) four-to-six months of testing. As I mentioned earlier, this is one of Nintendo’s largest and most ambitious games ever. The amount of testing required for a huge open-world game like this is enormous. Nintendo’s intention is to have the game as bug free as possible.

This is crap. Localisation and testing don't interfere with each other. Why should testing wait till localisation is done?

Yeah, that's what I though too. Testing will be done by the team, they don't need the game to be translated to test it for bugs and broken parts of the game.

Well, the problem seems to be the localisation of the game, and that is shared between both versions.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Why would localisation be the problem? Zelda games aren't that text-heavy, and I don't know if they will use that many voice actors (hell, outside of Link and the Old Wise Man, I haven't really seen people or towns in this Zelda, looks kinda barren).

It's not me saying that localisation is the problem, is this whole new Emily Rogers, and now Eurogamer, rumor that says it.

And this time around there's also voice acting, so if Nintendo wants to do a good job, they'll have to translate everything into the different languages and then also record the needed parts.

We can't judge the game from what we've seen, because they have only shown a small part of the whole map, of which we don't know if they removed anything for the demos. They can't really make a Zelda game without Gorons and other Hyrule habitants we've grown used, right?

Damn, that delay rumour better be false like the link with a () thing. If so, then i'm delaying my purchase untill the holidays likely :(.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I don' quite get why localization interfers with testing, tbh xD. I can live with a summer release though, but, still... I want to play it now.

They're reporting Emily Rogers claim.

"Eurogamer had separately been told of the same schedule, as Nintendo is committed to launching the game in as close to perfect a state as possible after so long in development".

They have their own sources, that's why they reporting and backed Emily Rogers claims.

We saw only small part of world (less than 2%) there will be towns, cities, NPCs, quests...
