Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Nintendo Switch Release Date, Price, And Games Lineup Teased!

As discussed recently, Laura Kate Dale of letsplayvideogames has tweeted out that the Nintendo Switch was releasing on March 17th in the PAL regions.

Rumors suggest that the Nintendo Switch includes an NFC ID card to download your content onto other devices such as unlockable characters in Mario Kart and possibly games you own temporarily downloaded. This is their  solution for poor battery life. A card will be included, and new cards are available for around $10.

MK8, Smash, and Splatoon will have ‘Directors Cut’ editions at launch, which include previous DLC plus new content. If you own the digital versions on Wii U you can download them for FREE on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo is also trying to get retailers to offer a trade-in system to ‘upgrade’ your Wii U physical copies for free or very discounted price.

The new Super Mario game is supposed to feel like previous 3D Mario games. Some levels will connect into each other like Banjo Tooie. For example, the ice hub may have a 2D level that connects you to the desert level. Use the two Joy-Cons separately for 2 player co-op with Luigi.

Switch bundles will be $260 for basic, $300 for Mario bundle, and $340 for Zelda bundle with Pro Controller.

If all of this is true, I'm picking the Switch up day 1. What are your thoughts on these rumors?

Ill go for that Zelda bundle in that case. Pro controller is a must.

260 is a decent price but what does it include?
300 is pretty workable too.

But poor battery life? eh...

Probably the console and the controller no game.

Sounds like a great option, if you do not want the pro controller!

I want the pro controller but I won't buy it until I play the console a bit. I will probably go with the Mario bundle and buy Zelda.

I still think the new Mario 3D is a holiday 2017 game. Releasing Mario and Zelda on the same day would be great, but not very smart.

Ill take the Zelda bundle with Mario. Im not playing with that freaky Nintendog controller.

I figured they would do free transfer of digital Wii U titles to Switch. But the option to trade in your physical game for a steep discount is shocking. Hopefully they do the same with Wii U. If you can trade in your Wii U for a big discount on Switch? That would be a tempting offer for those that suffered Wii U.

Yay! Games I already have or can get on Wii U! I must be dreaming!
