I said a lot of things at the beginning of this generation.

-Current gen console sales would be front loaded.

-Current gen consoles aren't much of an improvement over last gen.

-Hardly any software feels fresh and new.

-....uh, Rise of the Tomb Raider would score higher than Uncharted 4 (I still like Tomb Raider more)

-Resolution isn't important.

I've probably said more stuff, too. I can't remember.

Now, a few years later, I'm loving the PS4 and Xbox One. I've purchased a 4K TV with HDR. Playing VR makes me feel as giddy as I did playing N64 back in 1996. Sales are great. I've preordered a PS4 Pro. I couldn't be happier. And to think, I once said I wouldn't even buy the an eighth generation console.

Thank you games industry for keeping me engaged. Now, if only we could fix Capcom and Konami.....

But yes, it's been a great gen so far; and for what it's worth, I think there is someone at the start of every generation that says the same kinda stuff you were saying.

I'd say that you're not all that wrong on these two.

Maybe it's just because we're coming up on Halloween, but even though I thought I wouldn't care about VR at all I'm finding the idea of VR horror games awfully tempting right now. (Also VR Rez!) I may have to bite.

Konami is a lost cause, sadly.

Can't say I've been eating much crow, aside from siding with the wrong team when it came to predict NX/Switch year of release.

I dunno, d21ewis, I think you were right about those predictions, minus the sales and Metascore pair.

This has been an unspectacular generation so far. It marks the first time in a long time that I've actually wanted to downsize, to sell systems instead of buying them.

I kinda agree with some of your initial predictions though.

Yeah that VR is awesome loving me some until dawn!!! My xbox one was a waste of money though never really play it, gonna sell it soon for switch. Don't need ps4 psvr Wii u switch 3ds and a xbox one

SOMETIMES it's great to be wrong. Maybe capcom and Konami May prove you wrong also.
