I may have asked this before, but if I despised Oblivion, will I like Fable II ?

LO was really good (excellent even). It could just be that I generally prefer WRPG's to JRPG's. But don't you dare claim Fable 2 won't have a story. The first one did and it was brilliant, with plenty of awesome little side quests that directly related back to it. This game is set 500 years after the first, and I suspect that it will still be about Jack of Blades, but thats speculation on my part. Whats even better about Fable 2 is that side quests (and inevitably some main quests) are pointed out to you by the companion you share the adventure with, your dog. This allows you to choose whether or not to follow the scents he picks up or not. Play Fable 1, then tell me Fable 2 won't have a story. Better yet, play Fable: The Lost Chapters expansion, as it greatly increased on the story of the first. |
I have played Fable 1 and I really did enjoy it. While Fable did have a story (the comment was mostly in jest, because I compared a JRPG to a WRPG), it wasn't something to write home about. Fable was not a bad game at all, it had a cool environment, a great battle system, and was just fun to play. Those are usually the strengths of most WRPGs.

I despised Oblivion, and I loved Fable and will love Fable 2.
They are both Western RPG's, and they are both free-roaming, but thats where the similarities end.

For an RPG, a million copies is very good
I am so buying this game.

In my opinion, Fallout 3 can take that crown.
The game looked really interesting in the game play demo, and if Bethesda can retain the dark humor associated with the series then i really dont see any reason why it cant beat Fable 2 critically and sales-wise. Dont forget that theres a sizeable contingent of Fallout fans who have been waiting for years now.

The original Fable sold 2.6m on Xbox, according to VGChartz. To say nothing of Fable: TLC and the PC port. Hard to see Fable 2 selling less than the first one, even if a lot of people do still gripe about how there wasn't really an acorn that grew into a tree.
360 official go to console for RPGs... confirmed...?
I beg to differ. I think the demo to FFXIII will be better than Fable. Don't take it personal, it's a preference thing. I did not enjoy the original Fable one bit. As such, I've already decided not to buy the second one.
The best RPG of this year IMO will be CCFF7 - although I will deffinitly have to play Last Remnant before I can say that for certain.

Do you honestly see any publication of note giving VC a shot at RPG of the year? Fallout 3 maybe, but VC? |
Well that was my personal preference. I am sure the major western publications will be split between Fable II and Fallout 3. Maybe VC will be SRPG of the year, or even JRPG of the year.

They give SRPG awards?
