Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: "You shouldn’t assume what you saw on the video represents actual Switch game footage"

I mean this was obvious to me. They all looked Wii U level of graphics, so I certainly hope the system is capable of more.

Excitement levels fading..... fading......

Watching the trailer the gameplay did look fake like it was some test demo thing.

LOL, what should i assume then?

priceless...

It just means the actors weren't playing in the clip and the screen was black.

they even messed up the cut here

No, that's not what it means. People have explained that already.

Yes it is Mr.Stubborn.

Actors in this admitted it already.

K bye.

sounds like the system could very well be delayed and not release in March, since they obviously haven't got any 10 second 'close to final' game footage to show in the trailer, and hesitate to reveal anything but a concept trailer

And yet at end of trailer you have March 2017 release date. There is no chance they will again confirmed March like release date if there is just small chance of delay.

my bad >.<

so it could either be good or a bad thing regarding the actual NS graphics, there is hope

still weird and certainly not the best way to promote the console, almost 20m views for the promo and the actual product could be better or not as good :/

agh, reminds me of when Battlefield 3 and Metro: Last Night never came to WiiU despite what was announced, or 3D movies for the 3DS, hopefully that's not the case this time

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Jesus Christ Nintendo...smh

It just means the skyrim footage was a video taken from a High end PC,.... and you shouldnt assume it actually gets Skyrim, or it can run skyrim like that.

I think its very safe to expect that all games that are shown will come to Switch (it doesnt make any sense to show 3rd party game running on system 5 months before launch of actually that game dont coming at all on that system), it just not safe to assume that games will look and run exactly like they were shown in trailer. Also Bethesda confirmed partnership and support for Switch and they said they will reveal specific games and details in the future.

I think people are reading too much into this. Nintendo only wants to reveal their console this year and because that they only showed placeholder games like MK8 and such. Even the actor who worked on set said the TVs and such were blank. The footage was added after the fact. The intention was only to show off the console, not the games. Similar to the Wii U Zelda demo

Yeah but with 5 months until the release they should have at least some games to show us. If their plan really is to just show the Switch, have developers say that their games might not be on the console and tell people to not assume that they'll get the games that they showed and then stay silent for another 2 months, then there will of course be a lot of problems.

Well they did showed Zelda, maybe they will show one more game before January. They will have full reveal in January with all games announcements.

Why would at all showed at all NBA 2k and Skyrim running at Switch if they don't coming on Switch. There is zero sense, not to mention that both Bethesda and 2K confirmed support of Switch.

BRUH bethesda said Skyrim is not coming to Switch and they put it in their to support the conole.

Bethesda never said that Skyrim is not coming to Swtich, but they did said they are Switch partner, that they will suport Switch and that they will "revealing specific games and details in the future".

This was just Switch reveal with focus on Switch concept, full reveal with games, details, specs...will be most likely in January.

Worth remembering the NX will be using a custom chip, yet when Eurogamer reported the leak In summer they were using vanilla X1 as placeholders. I suspect many games are in transition and unoptimised at the moment.

I have no idea what they are trying to say here. Is this because some people complained about the framerate of the footage, or because the concept doesn't work exactly as they showed it on the trailer?

What they are trying to say is that the people in the teaser held dummy units and whatever was on the screens had been added in digitally and does not represent the actual visuals.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

This is 100% nonsense. Do you mean the game isn't signed to run on a retail console yet?If so, sure. Do you mean that Nintendo is using a 100% legimate retail console in this video? Because that is almost assuredly not the case. In fact I would not be surprised at all if all of the video shown in the ad is a playback of a pre-recorded video.

Nintendo could feasibily have made development/test kits by now that look almost identical to retail kits, and it would be very easy for Nintendo to make one look identical to one for the purposes of this ad. If this is a test kit in this ad, then it absolutely could run an unsigned version of this game.

The "consoles" used in the reveal trailer were dummy units, and the footage was pre-recorded and added in post production.

Actually this. Nothing that was shown on the screen was a live demonstration. It was added in post production. The system is probably not yet ready to show games running on it without issues.
