This pretty much confirms that it is not october. Probably not even november.
And there is no point to announce it in december, so, yes, Nintendo screwed this again.

Yay! We'll have at least another week of NX rumors...

He is still meeting with them, it will be done on Wednesday and Thursday. Here is the paragraph that said it in the orginal post.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima will nonetheless meet with the press next Wednesday and analysts the following day. While we’re unlikely to see any news about NX in an online presentation within the next few days, it’s possible that something will be said next week about how the platform will be unveiled. A Nintendo spokesman also reiterated that more on NX is coming by the end of this year."

Can be honest, I don't mind not knowing if they truly keep it close to the launch date.

If Nintendo is plannin to delay the NX, then at least we're looking at a summer release, at best. That means almost half a year with the WiiU dead and the 3DS barely alive (thanks to 3rd party, ironically). This won't get people confident in your product.

There's still hope for a release this year. But it's looking less likely now.

Release of what this year? The NX was said to launch in March, and if they are having so much secrecy about it, a delay is probably the most possible reason. A launch this year would be an unexpected twist, I'll give you that.

And I guess this is how hyperboles work on internet.

Sorry I meant to say announced this year. But at this rate don't be surprised if it's announced in March and released later. 

Well, I think the NX sucks then. And they know it.
