Yes because most computers are workstations, not gaming machines. And PC gaming is falling. No one has time for the cumbersome setups and what not. And its amazing what you can do with PC but its really too expensive and for some folks they are intimidated by it. They are a very loud group of people but they are infact quite the minority. I mean, PSVR blew Rift and Vive away in a single day as far as sales. This actually happened.

Can you provide source for the PC gaming is falling, I do love that statement.

Are you freaking serious? PC gaming failing? Is that why 99% of multiplats come out on PC and on the same date as console? Why Steam is bigger than ever and Microsoft releases all their exclusives on Windows 10?

You can't be serious, just no way you can.

With mid range graphic card GTX 1060 3 gb or RX 470 4GB costing 200$ and being twice as powerful as PS4. Want cheaper? Newly released GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti are both more powerful than Xbox One and even PS4, and cost 109$ and 139$ respectively, I really wouldn't call PC gaming expensive.

Its okay.  I know this is hard t. believe but its really not attractive to alot of people to game on PC.  maybe is phycological, but its true.  i spent about $900 building a PC about 2 years ago, but playing them in my computer chair infront of my small monitor by myself is really not what I enjoy.  I also had a bad 8320 chip that I had to replace after about 5 months.  I don't think most people are willing to go through the trouble of replacing their own individual parts or the process of even identifying what the issue is.  Also, and this is the worst part ---- when games just don't work and you have to go through this whole process of trying to research what the hell is wrong.  Most people don't have time for that.

I have a PC.  I like to program and I like to make music.  That is what I use my rig for and it is a very decent one at that.  But for gaming, I just like to play with friends in the living room on the Bigscreen TV.

Big PC guys try to make it seem like there is something wrong with people or that other people are inferior for not wanting to jump through the hoops they do to game on PC.  I think insulting people is part of being a PC gamer, for some, because they are so good at calling other people peseants and dirty.   I just find that attitude repulsive mostly. And R* finds them to be unworthy of immediate investment.  Development cost money and they want to follow the money. PC gaming is quicly becoming a sport about who can be the most pretentious, but that is not what gaming is about.

Im confused. So i hear alot of gamers on this site claim theres no reason to buy an XB1 because of the Windows 10 store yet now this happens and PC gaming has little profit and most PC gamers are pirates.
Rockstar need to learn off Blizzard. Because right now Blizzard will be laughing at R if there saying there's no money in PC gaming.

Blizzard has other focus, they are focused on the PC market.

I'm not taking him seriously. I don't think asking him for a mountain of evidence to suggest him being right is going to magically appear. I'm expecting some dated articles and sites like Cinemablend as backup at best.

Still can't believe on this site, that a few can slag off PC gaming, but you can't slag off the other brands of consoles, figures.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

So is this revenue from shark cards only in the graph?

I think so plus any DLC i think.

Anyway @OP im pretty sure Rockstar is pretty happy with having a game that was 3 years late sold almost 6 million units at pretty much full price and is one of the best selling games on Steam with only F2P games ahard of it. Plus its still in steams top selling charts.

Rockstar knows GTA5 sold so well on PC since it was a great port with many options and this was thanks to it being later then the console versions since they could work on just the pc version.

I have a feeling Rockstar will do the same with RDR2 and i also wouldnt mind if other publisher done the same if it meant their games would run as well as GTA5 and look like a step above all console versions on ultra just like gta5 is.

All dlc is free so it can only be shark cards then.  It means that console players spend more then pc players.  Probably because it's so easy to just hack or mod yourself free money on gta 5 pc.

BTW gta 5 pc release 1.5 years after launch not 3 years.  Big difference.

And it only looks better on pc if you've got the setup.  A large percentage will be playing lesser versions on their pc's or equal.

Good news for PS5 and Xbox Two : )

How's that good news for PS5 or Xbox 2?

Oh, just saw this is only for additional content and not for the actual game itself, thought it looked a bit too low ;-P

So yeah... the platform with access to free mods sells significantly less paid additional content than platforms without free mods?

100% this, why shell out for a bonus mission or a car pack in a game if you can download a mod pack for free which brings in fully licenced vehicles to the game you have paid for? All this graph shows is that addon content in this type of game suffers on the PC because it's an open platform, if the UWP had it's way it would fix this for Rockstar, but to suggest that it would be better for PC gamers in general if they were forced into the same closed market environment that exists in the consoleverse is just completely wrong here.

@Bold - I don't exist.

@underlined - What? If you can afford a $400 console with $70 games you could easily afford a PC which would handle the same games quite capably. A google search and a small bit of research in setting up a cheap gaming PC doesn't cost you any money, just a tiny amount of time and effort.

Please read over this paragraph and imagine it was the other way around.... how do you not see that you are being insulting to PC gamers even in trying to suggest that them being insulting is bad?

Do you not read the above as an extremely negative way to look at people who just happen to enjoy their games on PCs, it's one massive broad stroke across everyone of them as though they are all the one person who you have in mind when you write this.
