Have not really been following but this video caught my attention. Was just wondering how are the owners enjoying their new and shiny PSVR.
IGN are haters, but i can't say any of this surprises me.
I don't think anyone expected especially high review scores from the VR launch games. They aren't AAA blockbuster types, they're games made specifically for VR that don't jibe spectacularly well with review standards. That being said, impressions I've been seeing on Gaf and such have been very positive.
Some things I've read:
Thumper is intense, and well worth the price.
Batman VR is short, but worth a try.
Driveclub VR is disappointingly blurry.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is a great light gun shooter.
Of course, not having the kit myself (curse you Taco Bell!), I can't really comment on whether my opinion would lie more closely to user impressions or to critical reviews.
While IGN can be shitty, I can see where they're coming from. PSVR is putting up a great effort, but the tech is still very new.
Cant wait fo PSVR to evolve. Its gonna be awesome!

Honestly, apart from some porn games, I don't think I have seen any VR game (apart from maybe eve) that looked very care worthy. VR's problem imo is that there is nothing to really sell the thing.
Its like, here's a bunch of tech demos... And thats all we got but we are going to charge you a lot more than they are worth for it!

I guess "meh" is better than terrible or dogshit level games. Still, the starting line up of games isn't all that compelling. I'm crossing fingers RE7 will be great cause that will be a title that would get me to pay up, probably will pick up DriveClub VR as well.
Jim Sterling likes a few of the PSVR games. But he's very meh about VR over all and doesn;t think it's going to amount to much.
One thing that seems to be common is disappointment that Move is the motion control solution. Being old tech, relatively speaking, let's it down. But for games that can be played using the DS4, Move being a crappy motion control option isn't a problem. I think maybe Sony thought about investing in new motion control tech, but decided to wait and see how VR takes off before putting in effort on new motion tracking. Question is whether VR would have more of a chance at being a success if Move 2 had been released along with PSVR. Let people have a choice of a more expensive but more accurate new gen Move, or cheap out and stay with the old Move with less precision, but lower cost of entry.

Im looking forward to RE7, Ace Combat and Trackmania on VR, all the launch tittles seemed like nothing special.
