I don't think anyone expected especially high review scores from the VR launch games. They aren't AAA blockbuster types, they're games made specifically for VR that don't jibe spectacularly well with review standards. That being said, impressions I've been seeing on Gaf and such have been very positive.
Some things I've read:
Thumper is intense, and well worth the price.
Batman VR is short, but worth a try.
Driveclub VR is disappointingly blurry.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is a great light gun shooter.
Of course, not having the kit myself (curse you Taco Bell!), I can't really comment on whether my opinion would lie more closely to user impressions or to critical reviews.
