but if you want to play PS4 games in 4K then you need a PS4pro

Not all games will be in 4k. In-fact very few will be.

Yh you're right. PS4pro doesn't do 4k and doesn't even play 4k Blu-rays!!! What's the point? everyone should just get an XB1s which at least can play 4k Blu-rays or just wait for the scorpio......

To OP.... I would have told her that the PS4pro is a game console first. And that if Blu-rays movies are that important to her then she could always buy the XB1s.

I simply can't understand people buying/not buying a game console for movies. It's like buyinga really fast car to go fishing.

I was talking to a young woman at Best Buy the other day who was looking at Tvs while I was up there looking at some, and for some reason she asked me what I thought about 4k TVs and which was best lol. So I gave her my thoughts and she said she was looking to get one because she was excited about getting a PS4pro but she was torn because she wanted a 4k player which the PS4pro does not do. I told her it does support 4K streaming and she said the funniest thing to me lol.

She said well yeah so does every 4K TV so how does that benefit me when it comes with basically every 4K TV since they are all smart TVs? I said well I can't argue with you there but if you want to play PS4 games in 4K then you need a PS4pro, and I said if you want to watch 4K blu ray movies get an XB1s. What would you all have said?

Don't worry, you have done what was right. PS4Pro isn't a 4K player, that's a fact.

If she wanted a console that could both play games and play UHD movies, well the XB1s was the right console for her indeed.

Or like buying a really fast car... that also has a radio.

So, she's in the minority of people who buys physical media for movies?

I'd tell anyone asking me right now to not give two fucks about 4K because it's nothing more than a marketing buzzword. It's nothing that would drastically influence or improve your entertainment. It's just a minor upgrade, but those manufacturers expect you to drop major cash on it. The wise choice is to simply wait some years until you get 4K TVs dirt cheap as well as the devices to play whatever the hell you want.

Never be an early adopter unless you have loads of cash to burn.

One more thing, Google Play will start offering 4K movies in November. My guess is iTunes will do the same next year and PS movies a bit after their 4K Blu-Ray player is out.

Dude, just get a PS4 pro and get a 4k blu ray player down the road when they are cheap or when PS5 comes out. You are buying a $400 console, a $400-$2000 TV and you plan on having cash for both $60 games and you want to buy from a limited selection of $30 4k blu ray movies? Enough to justify?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

She made a pretty good point actually, unless she is specially interested on Sony exclusives Scorpio may be the right choice for her.

So advise a woman looking to buy a 4Ktv and interested in 4K movies to buy tv and wait over a year for a device we know little to nothing about to watch 4K movies on her new 4K tv?

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.
