I heard that GT:Sport was going to be missing some stuff like Day/Night cycling but I could be wrong, but really if you see Drive Club now you can find copies of it for around 10e (I got it digitally from the store but it is 29GB so keep that in mind if you have a download cap) but yeah I mean for the asking price of basically an indie title it's just such a beautiful driving game, I will point out though that I just played through the Tour mode of the game and only entered online to compete against TT challenges set by people in my DriveClub so I never actually competed in online racing in it, so I don't know how that works.

In Car

Track View of same

But yeah it's a shame the PS4 capture card sort of messes up the rain effect a little bit here when it's very busy, but still should give you an idea of the graphics this game can throw out in terms of "not just another day on the track" racing. Or time trial as this is... in a F40 in a blizzard in the dead of night... through the Scottish mountains.

Edit - You can of course quote me on recommending this game, I think it's something that everyone with a PS4 and a like of cars should try out at least once, on a graphical level it leaves the likes of Project Cars literally in the dust.

Nice, it looks great in those videos(except for that effect). If I see it at my local Wal Mart, I'll grab it for that price, since that's the only gamestore nearby my home now :(

Also, here's your quote. I put it in the 2nd post of the thread.

Driveclub (Ganoncrotch)

"Just got the 100% trophies in the Tour Mode of Drive Club, damn... I have to say that is easily one of my if not my favourite game on the PS4 to date, it's just such a beautiful looking racer, really there isn't a time when I'm playing it that it doesn't just make me feel warm and fuzzy with next gen shiny graphics."

"If anyone was considering a driving game and feels drawn away from Driveclub because of the launch day issues it had, I really can't recommend the game enough for anyone who enjoys a beautiful driving game, 12 player races, day/night cycle, some of the most impressive weather effects you will ever encounter in a game. Just yeah... it's an experience which should be had by all with a ps4 imo."

I hope people understand from that video that it does not do that in game, but that is an effect which the 720p capturing cpu which the PS4 uses to capture video just absolutely fails at doing, in the game while you play it there is no distortion, every drip of water runs up and down the windscreen perfectly being effected by the weather and the speed / turning of the car, each glistening with the lightning flashes which light up the skies of the game, it's such a feast for the eyes.

:o Sounds pretty nice, but yeah the video really doesn't do it justice. People should check it out for themselves.

(unless you're waiting on the VR version of it which is out... (now?) soon, I'm not sure if that still features the same modes for the non VR owners but yeah, Drive club and its season pass (+ bikes expansion) are money well spent if you enjoy a driving game and want to see how many polygons the PS4 can throw around the place.

That game f***ed me multiple times by failing to upload my times to the servers. I wanted to love it, but that level of bs made me regret buying the couple of dlc pcks that I did. Don't often talk shit about a game, but this one deserves it from my experience.

How do you mean uploading times to the servers though? you mean for the created challenges? My love of games is always for the single player aspect so I don't mind if the online times or so are not functioning properly, (unless it's street fighter 4) but yeah I went ahead and got the Bikes expansion and the season pass for all of the core games extra dlc packs. So much cars and content.

Just outside of the time upload issues you had, on a pure graphical level did you enjoy the game? did it not feel, like... ultra next gen for you compared to GT5-6 or Forza 3-4 if you played them on the previous gen machines?

I was really getting into it. It had a solid, and unique play style. Loved the graphics. For sure. I would say that the camera angles on the replay were below the level of what I have seen before. Less varity than say, GT5 or Project Gotham 2&3. I was playing in various competitions with my team, and many of my efforts were simply not registering with the servers. It happened over and over. I would check back, hoping time was going to remedy the issue. I gave it one more shot, it flopped hard, and I bailed for good. :( It was tough having good/great runs ruined. I was getting legit angry.

That's a real shame, I guess it depends on the area's of the game which you really want the most out of, and for some like yourself Driveclub failed them and it failed the rather badly. The only thing I feel to be missing in a way with the evolution of single player campaign driving games is the Rewind function of GRID, Forza and Need for Speed, it's just with some of the longer events after going on for about 7-10 mins of perfect driving to make a single mistake, spin out and end up having to redo the whole race from the start... that is a point where I kinda think... damn... that was 10 mins of my life I won't get back lol.
