What match are you excited for at WWE Payback 2017?

Neville vs. Austin Aries ... 1 5.88%

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyat... 3 17.65%

The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro... 3 17.65%

Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jer... 4 23.53%

Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss (Raw Women's Title) 3 17.65%

Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe 1 5.88%

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman 2 11.76%

Total:17

I personally can't really see myself going back to watching WWE, hell I'd rather watch Impact as they do have a good product despite being stuck on a terrible network (which their parent company actually owns). Regardless, I'd be happy to see all promotions doing well and making enough money to stay in business. A healthy and competitive industry is always good.

I'll also start watching wwe again during the royal rumble to wrestlemania season. I have almost every year actually. I didn't really last year. Was actually the first wrestlemania I skipped.

in your defense, brock Lesnar won the rumble despite not needing to do so and not winning the title...it was a waste of a rumble.

Ah yes. That would have been why. I did watch the rumble, found it subpar and nope'd out of the road to wrestlemania.

What made it worse was Rousey winning on the women's side. Would have at least been nice to see one of the Rumbles being used to elevate someone. And with those two, you could have easily gotten the Mania matches they wanted without that.

We'll see if HHH is any better in this regard. The booking of the midcard has definitely been better, but they still haven't really pushed anyone to the top. The only major title change they've done is with Liv Morgan, and they didn't treat her like a star. It's only been a couple of months, so I'm not saying he won't, but I'm taking everything with a grain of salt until it does. Let's see who finally ends Reigns' reign.

I'm loving the renewed enthusiasm for the WWE product. hehehehe

The larger the ship, the longer it takes to turn. 2 months is still probably a lot of Vince's long-term booking in place. I wouldn't expect the product to feel drastically different until after we reach wrestlemania. Especially considering how it's usually treated as an end point for many storylines.

Dude it's been a couple months and things are already trending upwards. It's not going to be an overnight change. they're on the right trajectory and for the first time in a decade I'm feeling like we should give them the benefit of the doubt and see where things go before we start criticising.

I also don't see how Ronda winning is/was a bad thing. She's actually really good, had never won a rumble before, I thought the story worked well, and while I absolutely did not want to see Brock winning (he already won one, didn't need the boost, and I genuinely think he's one of the worst things to happen to WWE since his return; I've not liked more than a couple of his matches since his return, and he seems to just be an uno reverse card on any pushes that get going. For the last decade he's basically just been used to say 'nope' to anyone the fans liked or any progress. He ruined the product the more he was involved), it did make for a cool 'the MMA guys both won this year' narrative.

As always. I'm ranting. I just really hate Brock and everything he represents whether people think he's a good wrestler or not. I do not feel the same way about Rousey; I actually think they're using her well and I think she has shown a tonne of growth (and that first year of hers on the roster is an all-timer rookie year.)

Don't think what I said indicates that I expected an instant turnaround. Just that I'm going to reserve judgment until we see more. I'm cautiously optimistic so far.

As for Ronda, I don't have anything against her, or Brock for that matter. My issue with them winning is the same, neither of them needed it. With Ronda and Brock, they already have tons of credibility, so if they want to put them in a title match at Mania, they could just do that, and they could give someone else the moment of winning the rumble. The rumble victory could instead to be used to push someone on the cusp of the main event scene to the top, like for instance with Bianca Belair the year before. With two rumbles nowadays, and two titles for each division at the time, it feels like they could have given someone new a moment to shine.

So I've seen clips of Bray's return on SmackDown. Is Bray going to feud with himself or "another" Bray, because that hasn't had the best results in the past. Undertake vs. Undertaker, Kane vs. Kane, hell even Ethan Page vs. The Karate Man (which was supposed to be funny) didn't really work too well. I'm not crapping on it, but it is tough to make that kind of thing work if they plan to go in that direction.

Also I doubt anyone cares, but tomorrow will be NXT and Dynamite going head-to-head again (Tuesday Night War if you will). I have always enjoyed having two wrestling shows competing on the same night, it's what made the Monday Night Wars such an exciting time in wresting. I'm sure the ratings will bring out the worse in people, but it can still be fun even if I only plan to watch one of the shows.

No reason anyone should care. Might be interesting if both promotions were bringing their A-game, but shows out of their regular timeslot generally lose a large part of their viewers, and NXT is WWE's C-show by a long ways. Whoever wins, it means nothing.
