Forums - Nintendo - Great new commercial for NES Mini

http://kotaku.com/some-good-news-and-bad-news-about-the-mini-nes-1787278446

Quote taken from article "The bad news? Bob Mackey over at USGamer got hands-on time with the system, and he has two nitpicks that will likely be very, very annoying: 1) the controllers are wired, and the wires are very short; and 2) in order to use save states or switch games, you have to hit the Reset button on the console. There’s no “home” button functionality on the controller."

How long is the cord for the controller? I hope at least 3 meters.

It looks really short. Probably 1M.

Comparison:

The real NES controller seems to be around 3M.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

What the hell? My couch is at least 3 meters away from the tv. Someone really didn't think that through :/

I could place it on the couch table, but then, I have to buy a longer hdmi cable and ....ugh.....wbat a pain. I can see a shitstorm coming on nov 11th.

Perhaps an easier/cheaper solution would be to get a USB extension cord?

I still remember finding the N64 controller cables annoyingly short as well. Hate when they cut corners on things like that to save a few coins.

It's not USB but nunchuck/classic controller cable.

Lol some guy on the Nintendoeverything article about Japan getting a mini Famicom TomaTito linked above makes the most brilliant comment ever; "Oh look, detachable controllers on the side".. meaning the NX Eurogamer rumour, would be the funniest thing ever if Eurogamer ended up mistaking the Famicom mini for the NX.

Hahaha, that would be priceless. Good catch

I think you can connect the controllers to a Wiimote just like a classic controller... although you can just use the Wiimote as well, right? This thing was compatible with Wiimotes if I remember correctly. Or were the NES controllers compatible with the Wii/WiiU through the Wiimote?

But yeah, short cables are short.

Damn damn damn it, even better. This is what I had when I was a kid, not the American version.

Oh wow, that's really stupid then.

I wish they're wireless.

I think you're supposed to have a realy long hdmi cable and have the actual console sit very close to you in true retro fashion. You're probably also supposed to sit on the floor, directly in front of the TV live a 10-year old.

From what I have seen on a Hobby Consolas video the gamepad wire is short however the HDMI cable looks pretty long, so you gotta put the Nes close to you, which may be an annoyance but at least doesn't look like you gotta be 1m far from the tv. They should have made the gamepad wires longer anyways.

That was pretty awesome! I would have definitely got a NES Mini if I didn't already play most of those games.
