People have to understand that if the selling point of the NX is gaming anywhere at anytime, then people looking for a device like that really aren't concerned with what Playstation is doing. They probably already have one in the first place, so PS4 Pro will most likely compete with regular PS4's and XbOne not the NX.

Tablets and laptops still sell in the face of desktop computers because they cater to different needs in the market and gaming devices are no different...

299$ price point is too expensive, I belive if it does that, its sales will end up like the Wii U's or worse.

Also from what we know (rumors) of the hardware inside, it shouldnt cost that much either.

We're talking about PS4 pro vs NX now. There is no one in the PS4 pro demographic that would even consider buying an NX instead. If anything there might be people disappointed in the NX reveal who are looking into a PS4 pro.

The PS4 Pro will not have any influence on the success of the NX. They are totally different demografix which is even reflected in the poll results even if this is a dedicated gaming site with passionate hardcore gamers who tend to buy multiple consoles.

The PS4 Pro will be a big success but really it's just a continuation of an already successful PS4. It won't shake up the market.

Slightly off topic but what is exactly the official price of the Xbox One Slim? Is it $249 or $299? I've seen both numbers several times.

Oh com'on, why $199? That's totally unrealistic. When did a new console release for only $199?

$249 is more realistic and a superb mass market price, but we shouldn't be shocked if it costs $299 at launch.

I'm getting the NX. I might get the PSVR when the library doesn't consist mostly of simple games.

Its not.

If its a tablet with a 500gflop gpu in it, it should be around that price.

The Nvidia Shield tablet sells for 199$ and nvidia dont expect software profits to be made on it.

This is what will make the NX a winner, its price.

They cant afford to be anywhere near their competitors in terms of price, if their going for the really low end, of the market.

299$ would put it at the same price as a PS4/XB1 slim, which it just cant be and be expected to sell well.

It will compete against the NX, like all other Sony consoles

Of course it will compete for people's spare time,  but people who think that every gamer will buy a PS4 or Pro over the NX don't really understand how things work. (If the main selling point is the hybrid idea for the NX)

Get it together people, you can own multiple devices and most of you already do! The NX being a hybrid play anywhere and on the go device isn't going to be completely stifled by people that purely want a stationary console experience. The 3ds is very old in age and is still selling quite well in the face of much newer home consoles.
