Have you heard about wireless keyboard and wireless mouse? Problem solved.

And that's only if you are interested in online shooters really, I use the gamepad 90% of the time when playing on PC.

Yes, I know this new tech. I even have them! So, you put your keyboard on your lap and the mouse on your couch? Or buy one of that oversized and unconfortable lapboards? Don't make it like it is as confortable as grabbing a controller and just playing your game.

Of course it isn't an issue for other game genres, but we have to face it. Online shooter are by far the most popular genre today, so it is a factor that most people will consider. I'm showing what are the general problems people have, but we have minorities that won't have problems with it.

But you CAN take a gamepad too, PC gives you both options, and there is a number of ways you can make it confortable from your coach, I use a little table and I find it way more confortable than wasting my time  and money with an outdated console that has barely any worth while exclusive and a 10% of the games I can get on Steam, I don't find the "is slightly less confortable for one single genre" as a good argument, specially when that exact genre is made to be played on PC, the gamepad is not accurate enough but console players have no other option.

I just can't imagine missing out on these games. Just a single console, or just a PC doesn't cut it, not for me anyway.

Went ahead and crossed out titles I'm pretty sure wouldn't qualify as a "AAA" (based on a combination of recognition, development cost/time, and quality). For example, while I absolutely love Odin Sphere and all things Vanillaware... Pretty sure most people would stop to scratch their heads if I mentioned it. In fact, they have.

Also fixed your spelling of Pokemon, because no. Either find the "é" or just used a normal "e". Don't try to... make one...

I'm also pointing out that a couple of usual-fucking-suspects are derailing this thread from personal lists of pros and cons to debates over whether or not certain things are exclusive to one or the other. If you don't like it, too bad- it's not your list.

If you guys keep this up (and you know who you are), the thread will just get locked. Just like everything else that gets derailed by PC vs Console debates.

Seems the thread is derailed already, oh well some more pros

Consoles:
- Best actual playtime vs everything else ratio (at the cost of customization)

PC:
- Can play anything the way you want (if you invest the time in it)

I find it a worrying trend that consoles get graphics and controller settings nowadays. I just want it to work without worrying about dead zones and analog sensitivity in racers. Make it work instead of telling the user to figure it out. Graphic settings are a slippery slope too. Console games used to be carefully optimized, I don't want to hear you can always turn on/off dof to hide the jaggies/fix the frame rate in certain areas.

In a nutshell:
Consoles: Play it the way it was meant to be played.
PC: Play it the way you want to play it.
I wish it would stay that way, both are great under the right circumstances.

Wow, calm down man. I don't see any reason in wasting my time on expensive hardware that is always receiving poor ports of AAA games such as Arkham Knight and MK X, ridiculously late ports (like GTA V, that was launched before on platforms that weren't even available when the original game launched), deal with stuff that simply refuses to work, like Shadowplay that remained broken by two months until they patched GeForce Experience whis week.I could go on and on with crap publishers threw at PC versions: bad FOV that gives motion sickness unless you mod the game to change it because they didn't bother with a FOV slider (also, hope it isn't online or you get a VAC ban for "cheating", while you are just trying to play without throwing up), games that refused to work on my older Phenom 2 because the imbecile developers compiled them with flags that only worked on newer AMD CPUs (running a FX now, so it's "fixed"), games with poor hacking protection like The Division that are simply unplayable on PC. Oh, and let's not forget the anti-competitive tactics that Nvidia employs against AMD, frequently ruining PC versions for half of players because they want to sell more GPUs. And I don't even want to start talking about G-sync/Freesync, since Nvidia is being so stubborn that they will probably destroy the possibility of tearing free monitors because nobody wants to change a damn monitor when upgrading a GPU and getting one from the other vendor. Of course, a lot of this stuff is caused by publishers being evil ans such, but let's face it: that's like things are. They won't change. So it really doesn't matter who's fault it is, what matter is that it happens and really affects the experience.

It doesn't matter if it has less games than Steam, the 90% more games are just indies. I rather have my God of War and Gran Turismo than Undertale or Goat Simulator. And if you look at the people complaining about PS+ giving away indies, you'll see that most seem to agree. Indies are a niche stuff. I like them, but a lot of people just want the latest AAA games with tons of marketing.

I work, I study, I do a lot of stuff. The last thing I want when I'm going to play games it to worry about any of these stuff. When I need to relax, I just grab my controller, turn on my PS4 and I'm playing right away. No fuss. It does everything for me so I don't have to worry. I just need to buy a box every few years, plug it on the wall and on a TV and it's running right away, while my desktop, after decades of evolution, still is a mess of cables.

My point is that both platforms have their pros and cons. The problem with a lot of PC gamers is that they can't accept that some people actually like consoles better. It's a preference. You consider the pros of PC more important than the pros of consoles, while guys like me think the opposite. But what I see in guys like you is that you think you did the best choise evaaaah and everyone that disagrees is stupid. You will probably say that nothing I said happens, maybe even going as far as saying that Arkham Knight runs in 4K @ 60 fps for you, while it simply refuses to keep more than 30 fps here.

Ok so let me get this stright.

Your against a Person using Emulation as a "Pro" on PC even if that person has an original copy of the game that they got new just cos some could be using it illegally.

However you list "Used" games as a "Pro" for consoles even when this is taking away 100% of the profit from the developer..

When you buy that used game its only gamestop etc seeing that profit.

- Emulator are legal, ROMs are piracy (and you won't put a SNES cartridge on your PC, will you?). If you need the BIOS, it's also illegal.

- If I sell my car to someone, should the police go after me? It's mine, I can do whathever I want with it.

Only thing is even if we are playing on MS's field 90% of the fans that showed up are for Valve.

I know people prefer Valve. It's actually MS's fault: they keep screwing PC gamers (GFWL, "Xbox games on PC" 180, no mods, list goes on). But mind that they own Windows, they can do whatever they want with it because they have a monopoly to back them up. If they simply blocked Valve and said "all software now must go through Windows Store", what will you do? Buy a Mac or use Linux (I do)?  You'll have to accept it. It wouldn't even be illegal since that's what Apple and Google do, banning all 3rd party stores. For Apple, you have to jaibreak to avoid this.

So I'll fix the analogy: Valve has 99% of the fans, but MS bribed the referees, TV transmission crew and all stadium staff.

I accept that people like console most, I like consoles a lot, just when they give me reasons to buy them,  right now the twins give me little reason.  And yes consoles are more simple, there is a diference, but I see that many people believes (or want to believe) that PC is way more complex and unconfortable of what it actually is, you can use a PC almost like a console this days, is not the same price, size or simplicity but is not that far.
