Did you watch the video?

".... we have achieved in games consoles. In-fact of our 3 newest wins, 2 of which have just been anounced resently, by our game console partners,... Microsoft and sony. And so with those specifications you can see... for the playstation 4 pro, with the microsoft scorpio, their leverageing the IP we 've ... developed the next gen IP.... that we ve been developeing in graphics, and thats our strength going forwards...... "  - Quote from video.

(it continues on and on, cpu,gpu ip bla bla bla)

The point is their talking about games consoles, and their saying they have 3 wins, and only 2 of those 3 newest have been revealed.

Those 2 new wins, are the PS4 pro & the Scorpio.

What is the 3rd new console system win they have? that hasnt been announced yet?

I think its fair to assume this "could" be the NX.

Which means those rumors of tegra could turn out to be false.

No, the question is about their semi-custom business as a whole. He cites two gaming wins. But he never specifies the third is a game console.

As a matter of fact AMD has previously said one of the three semi-custom wins that they have is "beyond" (outside) gaming.

If it is Nintendo then it also means the CPU is ARM because AMD has said one of the semi-custom wins is ARM based and if you are going to say the other two are MS and Sony, then the the X86 setups are accounted for.

I myself lean towards Emily's/Eurogamer's rumors, however, it is a possibility that it could be the NX. And as someone else said, it may be both that are right, potentially. It's possible for Nintendo to switch to AMD down the line and that Emily simply heard of what was going to be the case, or at least what was being used as a placeholder.

Emilys rumors about bout the new Zelda mostly came true as well, and the only one that didn't was something that Nintendo confirmed to discuss during development of the game, that being a playable female character. So she may have been right, but Nintendo simply opted to back pedal on that idea of a playable Zelda/female Link.

And it's also possible that this design win is not the NX at all and is something else we simply don't know about as of yet. Like a new Sony portable perhaps, or just something else. I don't know the odds of how likely this is, either way, but it's possible. Heck, it's even possible that everyone is wrong and Nintendo is making fools out of us all, haha. The best thing to do is keep your imagination and expectations low/non existent and simply wait for Nintendo to announce the platform. We're close, just hold out a little bit longer and focus your mind on other things until then.

AMD has been rumored to be providing a custom SoC for Apple in 2017.

I guess the only question is if these are the same thing. In the context of what they recently said, he was referring to game consoles..but was he grouping the beyond gaming one with the two gaming related ones, or were all 3 gaming related and he didn't mention the beyond gaming one? That's what it seems like this debate stems from.

More than likely, I think you're right. It depends on how you look at what he recently said, but I think it's more likely the third is the beyond gaming platform.

Just a side note, but "beyond gaming" could also just mean "more than gaming", rather than outside of it, but that still doesn't sound like a Nintendo platform either way.

It not only about Emily and Eurogamer, much more sources confirmed Tegra for NX, WSJ and MWC for instance, also few others "insaders" from Neogaf, while on other hand we dont have not one single info saying that NX is using AMD (SM64 just speculate he dont have sources long time now).

AMD doesn't mean a powerful processor. Nintendo has used AMD the last two generations and delivered mediocre hardware.

Also AMD is saying that the third semi-custom win basically has to be ARM.

AMD's ARM based processors aren't any better than a Tegra from what I'm seeing.

Remember when everyone was looking at 1 TFLOP processors like the AMD 4850 for the Wii U? How'd that turn out?

This is like the kid who's all excited thinking he's going to Disneyland when really dad is planning to take him to the Disney Store at the mall.

I'm just waiting to see how this mess is going to turn out.

Definitely hoping for AMD and a family ecosystem consisting of a handheld part and home console sharing the same library.

Rumors are just what they are, rumors. But seeing people treating them as facts is definitely sad.

I hear you!!! I agree 10000% with all you wrote there!!!
