Looks like someone got a new Mazda.

I've had it for a year now with just under 8,000 miles on it.  It's the Touring model.  I love it.  And I'm blessed to say that it was a gift from my wife paid in full.  Here is a sample image of it:

I think Sony wants to bundle the pro with psvr at some point, hence the cost saving to come to a not outrageous bundle price in a year or so. 4K UHD player wouldn't add much, but it certainly doesn't make sense in combination with psvr.

Anyway even if I wasn't interested in psvr or 4K tvs I would still get the better model (if I didn't have a ps4 already). Otherwise I would be getting a One S right now instead of hesitating and waiting for the Scorpio. PS4 pro can wait too, show me what psvr can do first. I had thought the 'value' of the PSVR stemmed from people already having a gaming setup to attach it to.However if you're buying a PS4pro for PSVR, you're at the tipping point of being better off getting a Vive or Oculus.

And with the amount spent on this setup, would a $50-$100 price increase on the PS4pro have been a deal-breaker for you?

Sure, I'll try it on regular ps4 first. But if the pro really shows an advantage with psvr than that makes it easier to buy a second ps4. The beauty of VR is I can use it while my kids mess around on the regular ps4. With one ear uncovered anyway...

An extra $50 would not have been a deal breaker, yet with the Canadian dollar so low anything helps. It advertised as CAD 500 here, generous of Sony as it would actually be CAD 520 with the current exchange rate... (XBox One S starts at CAD 400, should be CAD 390 with the exchange rate. I guess they just like to round up to the nearest hundred, 2tb XBBox One S  is 500 here same as ps4 pro)

I won't be better off with OR/Vive as I'll need to build a new PC from scratch for that. I switched all my pc gaming to my laptop years ago. Plus I want something that simply works out of the box. I'm at that stage in life where time > money.

Having an extra port doesn't remove need for the extra box, because the box is doing processing work, which HDMI port does not do.

The extra processing is for 3D audio and splitting the hdmi signal into VR and second screen output. Reserving some of that extra gpu power for that task would have saved costs in a bundle. MS did it with Kinect to bring the cost down. Since PSVR can already work on ps4, there should still be plenty extra gpu left over after adding those two tasks.

Question to folks: are you able to justify UHD Blu-ray purchases for yourself?  Do you own large format 4K TVs (65" and above) capable of reproducing HDR without blooming?

Personally I'm interested in all that, and I'm likely going to drop $9000 on a TV to get that, so I am bummed the PS4P doesn't have UHD BR, but I'm willing to bet 99% of folks won't in the near future.

I could justify it since I watch movies on a 92" screen. However it's a 1080p projector, and I'm not willing to drop $10,000 on a new projector. (which can't show HDR, doesn't support wide color gamut and is limited to 4:2:0 8 bit color in 4K at 60fps)

But if I had that kind of money to burn on a display, I would buy both consoles too!

I didn't mean if you would pay an extra $100 for 4K bluray playback.

If the PS4pro as it currently stands was priced $100 more, would that be a deal-breaker for you, or would you still get it?
