I had to reiterate because that's a pretty big thing to just sweep to the side.

I didn't really sweep anything to the side. I presented the advantage of the Ps4s over the XB1S and then presented the advantage of the XB1S over the Ps4s.

I think it's important to note that pretty much all, if not all, 4K TVs upscale to 4K.  So, if you have a 4K TV, anyway, the XB1S really has no advantages.  Of course, not all upscalers are created equal, but being $299, I highly doubt the XB1S is going to be better at it than a $1000+ TV.  It'll probably do it as well as a $500+ one, though.

$399 is a great price, especially considering it has a 1TB HDD, not a 500GB like we're seeing in all other consoles this gen. When they confirmed that the PS4Pro had a 1TB HDD I really was expecting a $449 price point.

The fact is the PS4P doesn't feel like a Premium hardware.
The price point makes it almost a substitute of the current PS4. There is no reason to buy a Slim unless your budget is really constrained.

And if you have a PS4 you would need a 4K TV to enjoy better games. And if you like 4k movies you need to buy another playes. So no need to rush and buy one right now.

I'm almost making a thread comparing this reveal with the one for the Xbox One.

Well, not everybody has a 4K TV readily available. I'm sure a parent getting their kid a PS4 would go for the slim other the Pro. It's good to have options, at least

Not having 4k Blu ray seems to be the end of the world.

Not end of the world, but when you think about a Pro/Premium product or service you get some expectations, but as greenmedic88 said on another post, maybe the 4K blu ray market isn't big enough, we don't have those numbers but Sony surely does.

But anyway, I think that part of the problem is when you compare to the Xbox One S, specially because it's not a Pro/Premium product and it does have 4k blu ray people get somewhat confused.

I can see why many are confused. Because if what your saying is true and 4k isnt big enough than why would they even bother with HDR when thats even a smaller percentage of the 4k users since not all 4k users have HDR TVs.

The name "PS4 Pro" is a little silly, how is it for professionals? Is it the version of PS4 that is legal for professional gamers to use while the home edition is illegal?

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Seems like the best power/price relation in market. great product.
thought id pay 500 if it came with ps3 BC.

This lends a bit more credibility to Eurogamer's nx leaks

I meant 4k Blu ray discs

A question though (being a complete technical noob :)). But if it doesn't have a 4K Bluray player, how can it play games in 4K other than through software upscaling? Or is there another way around that?
