Forums - Microsoft - Buying an XBOX One S Thanks to Sony Event

So, as a 'gamer' you're opting for 4K Blu-ray movies over better looking games? Weird.

The guy likes his console to serve the purpose of both a gaming machine and a 4k movie playback machine. Totally understandable for someone aiming for both offerings. Something ps4 is not offering at the moment. What is so weird about someone's choice or preferance for this particular combo offering? What is actually weird is that you are offering your opinion as though it is the only right one. Its all about choice and Personnel preferences and perception of value.

No one is ever allowed to be disappointed with Sony? Seems to be open game for MS and Nintendo when they make questionable decisions. The only console that can run 4k Blurays is an Xbox One. To me this is really poor decision making on Sonys part. Am I supposed to wait until 2019 for PS5 for 4k blurays? It's a fair complaint.

So, games be damned, right?

Pretty sure the XBox one plays games.

From where I'm sitting, that's the best move they've made in the last 10 years.

Could not agree more! I like their conviction to be committed in giving the best gaming experience ...

Honestly I really don't get criticism soundwave is getting for this.

He sold his ps4 most likely got the price of PS4S/XB1S at the right time, in hopes that PS4Neo/Pro would have 4k Blu-ray capabilities. It did not.

He stated that the 4k blu-ray is just as important as gaming to him. This is really ironic sony fans are mocking this, given how last generation people were defending blu-ray and importance as a media centre.

PS4/Xbox1 share a lot of their library.
Xbox Slim offers him the thing he hoped for PS4P would have at a cheaper price.

Nothing is stopping him from getting PS4 at 200 price ranger.

Sorry but as someone who has PS4 and will never buy xboxone, I don't really get what part of his logic is confusing.

Surely, it crossed your mind that the thread was made for trolling purposes, right?

Slim not having it is one thing, the Pro not having it is really lame.

I think the real point being made is:

1. You sold your PS4. This means that you have no access to PS4 games, of which there are exclusives. And now you intend on keeping it that way because...

2. PS4 Pro doesn't have a UHD Drive. You're giving up games for roughly 100 movies over the next year (many of which aren't native 4K, but remastered). But the real kicker is...

3. You're replacing a console you currently own with a console that has the same exact library, that being one that is also available in near entirety on PC.

Now see, if you are really about the movie quality and not just here to do whatever this is, then you would get a UHD player later, when they drop to a better price (and they will at an alarming rate). After all, this theoretical plan you have about getting a Pro would have had to wait until November 10th anyway.

So why would you get a standalone? Well, for better sound, and to watch in Atmos (which no console supports). Even that aside it'll end up being cheaper, too, and you won't have to migrate data.

None that you can't get on PC. Maybe you should just build a PC.

What is stopping him from getting ps4 later based on that very logic you said.

Why so many questions about his bluray collection? People don't rent movies anymore? If you have a 4k tv it makes sense you want to watch 4k movies.
