.... who seriously still buys movies on discs?

I dont even buy games on discs anymore.... but thats just me i guess.

Netflix and Redbox are still the cheapest ways to rent movies, at least in the US. Online rental services frankly charge way too much money to justify using them if you have a choice. Hell, I still buy music CD's, becausse digital is a ripoff. You pay full price (or more) for significantly worse quality audio. I'd rather take the 5mins to rip my music in FLAC.

I'm just amused at the Nintendo Fans taking pot shots at the Pro because of this, when the WiiU doesn't even support DVD's xD

How does Super Mario Run being a bigger headline than anything in Sony's presentation amuse you?

What does that have to do with this topic?

I do not buy movies on disc but I sure enough rent only Blu Ray movies for my 4K set.  I would definitely be renting 4K UHD movies when they start to come out so having either PS4 Pro, Scropio or One S having this ability is a big plus.  Since the Pro doesn't have it, I am on the fence whether or not I will upgrade my existing PS4.

lol really? Is this confirmed.

Well, this is confusing and unexpected, I personally wouldn't care about it but I thought it was a given for Neo since the 4k looks like the whole selling point.

What did WiiU and DVDs have to do with this topic?

so trying to make sense of this, presuming Sony gets paid for 4k blu ray tech, MS will cut them a check for that feature, while Sony keeps costs down/maximizing profit by not having it for themselves? idk

It is just a matter of time before the firmware update. The bluray was not ready Day One on Ps4.
