Isn't that worrying? Isn't Yoshi's New Island not a good game? And the Olympic games? Bleh...

I thought Yoshi's New Island was a good game.

I stand corrected... I only heard before from my friend, who didn't enjoy it. That's pretty much as much as I know about it.

Everyone has different opinions so I don't think either of us are right or wrong.

I didn't think it was. If NX really is a tablet like device, i cant see nintendo passing on the opportunity to make a touch controlled Pikmin for it.

Ohhhh. Maybe this Spin-off happened because of that. Maybe they were excercising how to give Pikmin touch controls, realized they could make a 3DS game out of it and farmed it off to a smaller studio to work on.

Someone on the Gamexplain disscussion said that the game felt wierdly reminiscent of early DS games that were catered to showcase the systems capabilities and made everything touch controlled. That's curious for a game coming this late in a legacy systems life, but makes sense if they were really toying around with NX capabilities.

Not really, when talking about the new Pikmin Miyamoto talked about the "Pikmin team" which is part of Ex Nintendo EAD, since this game is made by another developer it means that there's another Pikmin game (likely Pikmin 4) that is still not announced !

Yeah, that is true. At least there is hope that this Pikmin game can be a good one, even if it plays differently from the usual games.

Yeah, there's still hope for that cool Pikmin 4 game.

That's good, would be disappointing if Pikmin 4 was actually this game

I'm not sure why you are acting surprised. The 3DS has always taken resources from its console counterparts: Wii, WiiU and now NX.

Maybe this NX isn't that hybrid anymore.

Well I'm not sure how you're not sure, I mean where have you been over the past year? :L

Pretty much everything Nintendo said and did indicated the NX (regardless of form factor) having a unified library as that would solve some of Nintendo's biggest problems.

These past few months? I've been MIA most of them if you haven't noticed.

Actions speak louder than words. Let's see what Nintendo does, because they can obviously say anything.

The majority doesn't really like the game, but it's not awful or anything like that.. It's just...... meh.

Hah. I didn't even think of that. It is really strange to see a 3DS game that's played primarily on the bottom screen. I figured they just didn't see the need to push the whole "3D" thing with every game anymore because the system is on its way out at this point, but what you say makes a lot of sense.

That doesn't change the fact that as Games like Amiibo Festival and Ultra Smash wouldn't sell anyone on NX neither Pikmin 2D would...

Nor does that change the fact that more games is always better than less. No single game can sell many systems, only a collection of games.

That is a fair concern to have, but like I said, the support they're providing for 3DS is absolutely minimal in terms of resources. Grezzo are a small and surprisingly productive studio, having worked on (developed and co-developed) Ocarina 3D, Majora 3D, Four Swords Anniversary Edition, Flower Town, Legend of Legacy, Tri-Force Heroes and finally Ever Oasis over a 6 year period, which is quite impressive, really. Add to that Pikmin being outsourced to the Yoshi New Island studio and two titles being ports etc, it is a very minimal investment so it shouldn't have much impact on NX software. Nintendo need to have teams working on a cycle, so these teams will be free to launch new games any time in the next two (at most three) years as they wrap up their final 3DS projects. The vast majority of EPD's staff (the combined EAD/SPD studios, somewhere near 1000 staff) will be working on mobile and NX products, with only the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild and the latest Mario Party (which we can assume is wrapped up or just about wrapped up) not targeting mobile or NX.

On top of that, NX is the first system to benefit from Nintendo's internal restructuring. We don't yet know how that will work out, but the theory and the intention is more Nintendo software, more often. I think your concerns are rational, but--and I stress this--in theory, if NX is a single system taking advantage of the restructuring at Nintendo, there's some room for optimism. The proof will be in the pudding, of course, but in the face of their business model falling apart, Nintendo have restructured their company and their development practices. That should change things. We just don't know until NX is revealed, and even then, Nintendo could (presumably will) keep the lid on some software. In theory, the majority of Nintendo's development resources will have NX projects either close to completion (teams like Retro, who haven't released a game since early 2014) or under way (like the Splatoon team, who largely wrapped up development last year).

Telling me what I already know isn't gonna change my mind. :L

You expect me to be paying attention to your site activity? I do however expect you to have been following Nintendo's activity if you're going to come in here and claim what they've done isn't surprising.

Said and did, namely the games they've been announcing. Both Wii U and 3DS were getting a minimal amount of games with most them being asset/engine reusing sequels/spin-offs. Just see E3 2015. Their words definitely weren't going to be ignored while their actions lined up with them.
