dumb question,its not for us to care but for sony, its a lot cheaper to make and its rumoured to have AMAZING price tag of 250,its going to sell ps2 levels if true.

i not only believe you're wrong about the Neo price, but I also hope you are. the higher the price, the better the machine will be, so here's to a 500$ minimum :D

It is probably more energy efficient and cheaper to build.

It can't go much thiner than that with a BR and a HDd drivers.

Because it's cheaper to manufacture, ship, and store, and thus can be sold for a cheaper price. That, or Sony or some other party is going to profit more. It's literally the same thing as in every generation before this.

OP is full of wrong but and if put across properly it could of worked.

Anyway;

PS4 owners souldn't care, it doesn't offer anything unless you really like the new look.

Potential buyers should care because it'll mean they will get a cheaper PS4.

From Sony's point of view they now have a console cheaper to produce that gives them more profit and/or opens up new pricing strategies to maintain high sales, strategic price drops or promotional deals.

From MS's point of view, the advantage that they had with their slim has now been cancelled out.
