Forums - Politics Discussion - Is Trump's real agenda to monetize the fringe right wing base?

As I've said, I believe Trump's goal is to fracture the Republican party until they never have a chance to be re-elected. I know some say he has an ego that's way too big, but he isn't dumb. He wouldn't have built his empire if he had the intelligence of a 5th grader. I don't know why he plans on doing it, but clearly it'll be to his advantage.

And yes, he has supported the Democrats and Hillary in the past as well: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-in-2008-hillary-clinton-would-make-a-great-president/

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I was gonna say, that kind of micromanagement of people's private sex lives would just be bizarre. Surely there are more important things to worry about in politics than trying to ban Jenny next door from getting her rocks off in her own time.

Not everyone has evolved while the rest of the world did, intolerance is a real issue around the world but a candidate only reflects the desire of it's people ...

Aside from third parties that is why I'm going to stand behind Trump's anti-corruption stance because I believe that is the true crux of a government when you have a candidate like Hillary Clinton who won't IMMEDIATELY disband the Clinton Foundation for which we found proof of them paying for favours from the scretary of state during her tenure ...

As a non-American, it's not a race I have a horse in. We had our election earlier this year.

GOP will need to worry about bigger issues than banning dildos

They actually tried that? That is seriously fucking pathetic.

http://m.motherjones.com/politics/2016/04/ted-cruz-dildo-ban-sex-devices-texas

Ted Cruz and co. fought tooth and nail to uphold the ban of selling sex toys in Texas, fighting appeals against it every step of the way.

Republicans, desperate for the Evangelical vote, supported him on this " Constitutional matter".

Such are the priorities of a fringe party. (Cruz has since denied wanting to uphold this ban, despite, you know, having fought for it in court).

Replace "GOP" with "Ted Cruz" and that's the truth (if it's even one) but even then he clarified ...

Just to toss it out there, laws similar to this have been passed previously by republican state legislators.  Here in Michigan the dipshits recently outlawed oral and anal sex.  I understand having those kind of laws on the books from previous eras but putting one in now is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of.  What a waste of my money to have these idiots debating about how they can get around the rulin against sodomy bans by attaching an oral and anal ban to beastiality.  Makes me ashamed to live here.

No one is holding a gun to Republican voters' heads and forcing them to vote for him, a weak/stupid candidate would've gotten eaten alive on the Democratic side, so it shows there's a lot of stupid/guillable voters on the right.

A candidate is nothing if he doesn't have any backing for his message.

Republican party doesn't need Trump to fracture, they'll never get elected again if they continue to alienate black and Hispanic and women voters. The changing demographics of the country basically ensure it.

Trump is a cancer for democracy. His extreme anti-Islam views are condemned by most people around the world. Hopefully Trump will get smashed by Clinton in the November US Presidential election and he will be forgotten. Trump's anti-Islam views are a major concern for American democracy and the security of the world. Trump has no clear economic plan or policy direction for the American people. It would be a tragedy if Trump fell into the role of US President, he would have absolutely no idea what to do next.

The GOP has been unwittingly setting themselves up for this for decades. [...] The GOP created a monster, and now that monster has grown too large and powerful to control, and unless they are willing to fundamentally change and move back towards the center, that monster will devour them whole.

I'm in awe of your analysis, sir.  Thank you for sharing it.  Chapeau!

I live in the great state of Texas (soon to secede from the Feds) and I must tell you that the fringe right wing lives paycheck to paycheck and drinks lot's of beer. How is Trump supposed to monetize people who are broke and drunk most of the time? Just asking.....

In the one place Donald Trump has found moderate success TV. In a Vanity Fair article NBC executives say Trump wanted to film The Apprentice from the White House. The disgraced founder of Fox News Roger Ailes is now advising Trump. How many Trump supporters have cable TV and or internet access? It was the topic of this thread until a title change.
