Forums - Nintendo - Would Pokemon Go be more successful with better graphics?

We all know photorealistic graphics are everything and Nintendo always struggles to keep up with this era of mind blowing visuals that defy logic. Pokemon Go released with Wii level graphics at best and is huge, do you think it would be even bigger if it looked like those Unreal Engine mockup videos and was exclusive to cutting edge mobile devices?

Discuss.

As a mobile game it doesn't need better graphics, let alone it's also a very simple game.

With the amount of battery it already drains I cant imagine how much faster it'd drain if it required more power to play the game with better graphics.

Mobile games need to run in as many devices as possible.
Limiting the game to only the flagship mobile phones would have dimished the success.

Plus imagine the battery life...

Yeah it's perfect as is. Better graphics would only kill the battery more. It doesn't need any better graphics for what it is.

Already drains my battery WAY too fast.

Don't really think so.

Strange question because

#1 pokemon go as was released
#2 pokemon go with better graphics

obviously #2 would have been (slightly) more successful since its a bonus, unless it might have alienated some crowd because it wouldn't have been able to run on their smartphone.

But in the end the real success is Pokémon, nostalgia and hype, they should have been identical so its hard to say if it would be been more successful.

Better gameplay would help give it legs. The game is already wildly successful and has outlasted most app crazes as it is. However its poor gameplay (no trading STILL, making it harder to catch Pokemon, no finder fix yet) has made the game increasingly hard to hold prolong interest with the general public

No, I don't think I've ever heard people complaining about the graphics. It's probably the least of its problems.

Asking for 2GB RAM is already an absurd as it is.

Strange, because my phone runs it even with only one GB of RAM.
