Dammit people why can't you Leave Sean Murray alone!

Is what I would have said if things didn't turn out as they did. Backpedaling to charge more money for a £40 indie game is going to be quite something to seem if accepted and endorsed I can easily see the easy route of charging £40 for indies in the future with loaded micro trans and cut content to charge more for later on down the line.

Lol I remember that guy. Fuck that's old, now I feel old

He was in Weezers Pork and Beans video, it's full of internet meme's from about 6-8 years ago, watch the video if you want to feel absolutely old as fuck. It reminds me of good times though so I love the thing.

I know this is off topic btw, I was just going to write Tagging so I could read both sides to this, it seems to be people who love it and want to protect it as their baby and people who absolutely want it to fail with a passion you would rarely see, even though they have not played or an interest in ever playing the game. It's a very strange to see so much love/hate for a "indie" title.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Ohh I saw your picture and I thought it was really serious.  For real I don't hate the game or the guy, but I don't trust him enough to not think that he's a bullshitter, developers are bullshitters and more when they own the company.

That's a little over the top don't you think? Each to their own I suppose. I'm not even sure what's he's supposed to have lied about, anything significant?

It's not much about the lies, it's more about the hype created by his vague statements, somewhat like peter molyneux. He lied about the multiplayer aspect too, but that's old stuff. Why I don't trust this guy or his company? because the PC port is worse than Arkham Knight, but he said that he was going to delay the game to polish the game. People can't run the game properly with a $1000 gpu, I bought the steam version yeah the performance issues are real, thank god for the refund button. Indie studio? so what? it's a $60 game even on pc, that's a AAA price.

so as you can see, I have reasons for my "hate"  not really hate, my distrust.  So people having a blast with the game need to understand that there are people annoyed by it. I DO HATE "the omg you are a hater" attitude of some people, it's not the same experience for everybody, jeez.

rant over, can we be friends again?

I'll consider this purchase after all updates/add-ons/expansions have been added.

What exactly did this guy do for so many people to hate him like this?

I don't understand where the venom is coming from.

My last comment is about my experience and "my venom"

Well someone has to replace Peter Molyneux, he left an empty space in our souls so Murray gave us and empty space without soul but full with the same kind of unreachable expectations and promises so we can remember him. Good boy Murray, now he is swimming in cash, the story of a hero with a happy ending.

Was good enough, just as good as my free will and free speech in this forum, that's why I post threads. If I'm not attacking people in this forum I think I'm good, some people dislike my opinions and that's part of it.

"Sean Murray Says He Was “Perhaps Naive” in Saying No Man’s Sky Won’t Have Paid DLC"

There's no lie there. Welcome to the reality of gamer mentality vs developer mentality. His gamer side wanted all the free DLC and patches. Now that he's made the game and released it. He realizes the company might not be able to afford to take that route. For an indie developer, Hello Games tried to strike in-between Indie quality and AAA quality and made a very ambitious game that took a lot of man hours and money. This kind of stuff is very expensive and I'm sure they still plan on giving free content updates, but stuff with new assets or "major content updates" may need to be charged for. It's the sad reality of game development. Most games release at a fix based price. No game cost the same amount to make.

All I'm seeing here is spoiled gamers bullying a game developer who's working their asses off on a game so you guys can play it. If you don't want to play the game or if it doesn't appeal to your "gamer mentality", then don't play the game. Other people will enjoy it.

He keeps lying, but aww he's so "humble" http://thisgengaming.com/2016/08/15/sean-murray-says-he-was-perhaps-naive-in-saying-no-mans-sky-wont-have-paid-dlc/

One thing you won’t see however, is the studio exploiting that with micro-transactions. Murray is adamant on this point. “We do want to add a ton of features, like we’ve just discussed: Freighters, bases, these type of things. But we want to do it for free. You’ve paid for the game, so you should get this stuff without paying even more money. So no, there will be no paid DLC, just patches.

Yes, that’s a quote directly from Sean Murray; “there will be no paid DLC, just patches.”

Well in an interview with the Daily Star Online Murray has now changed positions. Murray told the Daily Star Online that he was “perhaps naive” for suggesting No Man’s Sky will only have free updates.

“When pushed on whether the game will always remain free, Murray couldn’t categorically rule out paid for DLC further down the line, explaining that it could happen if “Maybe in the future there’s some reason why we just couldn’t possibly afford to do a certain feature without charging for it”.

It's pretty sad.  Every single developer has turned to the dark side of DLC, even some more new promising developers like CD Prjekt Red once said that all DLC for TW3 would be free.   High quality or not, an expansion is still paid DLC. Even Nintendo and Naughty Dog have some pretty shameless DLC options.

Lube Me Up

I can't help but like this guy. No sarcasm.
