They've done a pretty great job with this one. I haven't played Perfect Dark on the N64 in years and was surprised by the game's framerate. I knew it was bad, but I forgot it was actually worse than Goldeneye's framerate.

Haven't read it but I imagine DF isn't kind to Perfect Dark's frame rate. Even with the expansion pack it struggled, although I had no problem with it at the time. Same goes for Banjo-Tooie. Today's gamers would rip those titles to shreds no doubt.

I was fine PD's framerate, I was only like 6 years old, but I very much enjoyed it! Still one of my favorite games of all time.

It's a good thing the 360 ports exist! I would rather much play them nowadays..

Goldeneye was a masterpiece, never knew how few and inexperienced the dev team was for it. On the other hand I never did like Perfect Dark on the N64 - I didn't know the term at the time, but the constant "slowdown" made the game unfun for me. It's a crime that the Goldeneye remake for 360 never released.

not surprised. Lots of games from the N64 age had a horrible framerate.
I was used to it at the time (but already knew it wasn't good) but then I replayed some games on a real N64 a few years back and noticed how badly they really performed.

Awesome video, strange that Goldeneye still looks really nice even in 2016 but yeah drops into single figure frame rates is fairly nuts.
