Turning down the colour on your TV or monitor is a good idea and changing any filters on their. I dropped it a tad and now planets are less a mix of hues and a bit more realistic.

Yes, I set my 'hint' to cool and it's much better.

I pity those who have crazy contrast settings on auto without knowing it. Tried putting on dynamic contrast and vibrancy filters and it was like looking at a clique representaion of an acid trip in a 70's movie. Bloody awful, I wanna give that artistic director a kick up the arse. However I have yet to get to any star higher than the plain old orange ones.

Yep, I started a thread about it. Let's not derail this great thread any longer though! I love the game so far and can't wait to see where my upgraded hyperdrive takes me.

Nice, could ya link it? How'd ya upgrade your hyperdrive? I was free roaming but I stumled across atlas, yet I don't want to follow it just yet cause theres a star three systems over from me that was discovered and renamed but I need a tau upgrade or somthing like that, can;t remember what coulour it was.

Bare in mind that this was written before I got the game and before I toned down the colour pallet.

The Atlas path doesn't lock you in to it. You can find an anomaly regularly and get back on it any time. You upgrade your hyperdrive by finding blueprints scattered around the planets and probably space stations.

Oh dammit. Thought I could get it a little extra playtime by booting it up this morning. Went to the bathroom while it was loading, I come back, and have already been killed multiple times both restore points overwritten. Extreme survival reset to 0.  Love hate relationship continues. Oh well, I guess I can use a cheat again to get my time back, let in run in the background while sitting in a shelter. Remote play for the fix.

I organized my multi tool like this

+2 beam cooldown should go in the slot on the bottom completing the grid. Need Chrysonite.
It already doesn't take more than a second to take down common sentinals and 1 charge can carve up a whole block of Heridium in 20 seconds. The amount of icons the extended range boost spews out can be a bit overwhelming. Would be nice if they faded according to distance or something.

I'm using this exosuit config to survive

Works perfectly. I have Jet pack +2 as well which I want to put in the poison protection slot, it needs Chrysonite as well.

Maybe I can farm Chrysonite from feeding animals. Plenty of those around and feeding them encourages them to leave 'gifts'

So the "Brian Cox That Why I Love Physics Almost as Much as I Love No Man's Sky Award" is here.

More info soon. Here's a peak at the trophy.

I'm scared. 50/50 chance it's going to be worse first... Hopefully they found the memory leak that causes it to crash after a while.
Plus no hud option and eliminate "redeem bonus content message" (or not make it so your current ship plus all upgrades gets deleted)

Can't take decent screenshots like this...

I finished the 32 days on this extreme sentinel planet, I got better at evading them, still 279 killed total.

I also became an expert in extreme jet packing, watch those reserves, impromptu landings can be fatal.
Now it's time to bid this foggy planet farewell, although I still haven't been able to find the last species (of 12). Sometimes it says I discovered a new species yet it remains at 1 left, grrr. Not in the sky, not in the caves, not anywhere. Another glitch? :/

114,443u walked already, time for some flying instead. It doesn't seem like there are any real changes to the terrain, pretty uniform when you explore that far on 1 planet. No standout mountain ranges, valleys or flats. (Anyone seen a river yet?) The planets may be different between eachother, yet once you've seen one area, you've basically seen the whole planet :/ No polar regions or anything like that. It looks like there are different biomes seen from space, yet it all fades to the same stuff when you get to ground level. One planet I was approaching a lava lake as seen from space, dissolved in front of my eyes into the standard ground terrain. More smoke and mirrors.
