My answer.....all of them.  Gems of a bygone era.  Quality from a time when more effort was placed upon the development of the game than the markeing tie in .

Indeed, drinks all around!  If I had to be stuck on an island with a selection of games, this could well be it.

Hard to pick one only. I particularly liked:

- Street Fighter 2
- Super Ghouls'n ghosts
- Contra 3
- Addams Family 1 & 2
- Another World (duh)

Not sure if I'd agree Final Fantasy VI was better than Super Metroid or A Link to the Past (I think it's as good, certainly!) but I'd definitely agree on FFVI being the best turn-based RPG yet. Much as I love Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV, I don't think either them are up there with VI, which is just an astounding game.

Street Fighter II, great game.

Bear in mind though that in Europe we didn't have the usual suspects like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy, so I never played those.

It's close, for sure. I adore Super Metroid and ALTTP. Those would be my top three SNES games. In fact all three are in my top 15 of all time, with Super Mario World rounding out the top 20 :)

Why is ActRaiser on the list, but not Soul Blazer or Illusion of Time? They're from the same dev team and much better games. Then of course, there is Terranigma, which would have been my vote.

- Chrono Trigger
- Secret of Mana
- Final Fantasy VI
- TMNT Turtles in Time
- Street Fighter 2/Turbo/Super
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
