I don't see the problem.

If you want the edition with the game then buy the edition with the game.

How is that difficult?

Why would you ever buy a CE without the game? I mean how can you be a fan, but not want the game?

What if you're already getting the game from elsewhere?  What if you buy the game, love it, then decide you want the Collector's items?

It's just an option.  Why is an option bad?

Because they call it a Collectors Edition. Without the game, its not. Its just Battlefield 1 merchandise.

W T F? lmao...

Imagine how many people are gonna get this and get tricked.

I noticed this video earlier, I agree with the guy, the only thing wrong with this product is the naming, they should have called the version "Collectors edition goodies" or something or my favorite "NO GAME JUST GAY STATUE EDITION" :P

Wellt here IS a CE with the game. So this is literally just the stuff without the game.

Two options. It is actually cheaper to get the game else where and get the CE without the game.

Or get the game, wait 6 months and then get a cheap CE.

How is having the game IN the box any different than having the game outside of the box? If anything you could buy the CE without the game - and put the game in it if you rally wanted.

Wait 6 months? Tell that to the people who wanted the Ni No Kuni CE or the Fallout 4 one. They usually dont go down in price.

The truth is, this is forward thinking on their part and anyone who doesn't see that is missing the point. We live in a day and age where digital content is increasingly taking over people's entertainment. EA themselves are very much invested in their own digital services like EA Access. So, you're a big EA fan, you pay a yearly fee for their Access program to get discounts, and early access to their games, naturally that means you're buying digital content, because that's the only way you're taking advantage of those perks. But does that mean those people don't want a special collectors edition every once in a while? Why shouldn't they be able to go out and buy that special extra stuff that they might want to commemorate the game without shelling out extra money for another copy that they don't need?

Sure it's not for everyone, but there is a market for this, so stop hating on EA just because it's fashionable.

Then add a code for the game. If it doesnt have any way to get the game, then its not a CE. End of story.

If it's misleading then it's fucked up. If not, then no harm done. Though I do find it crazy that people pay this sort of money for special editions just for extra tat.

I've found many, many CEs cheaper down the line. Ni no Kuni was already impossible to find because they literally cancelled a bunch of pre-orders without notice on that CE. Fallout is marginally more expensive, you've got a point on that one, but that also sold out very early on to the point that Bethesda had to try and order more to be made.

With games like Battlefield the CEs die off in price REALLY quickly. I've seen some CoD CEs for like $40-60.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

A code is still a copy of the game, which takes you right back to full price, so the $190 version. This is for people who will have already had the game (at a discount mind you), by the time this launches
